Looks like Priit is working on the biller, so scores, chats, bots are all down for now. You can play and lame about, but nothing counts toward the new reset. Hopefully he'll have it working soon, and the new reset will commence.

Its not worth playing this reset (April 6-20) anyway. Even if biller was up, no one can earn bonus points because hallu has removed them for the next 2 weeks.

You can still earn them, you just cannot use them.

I don't think so. The in game bot said "NO bonuses next reset." i dont see how you could earn bonus points if there are no bonuses.

 

Also my "site" is up again, http://carefactor.110mb.com/SS%20Files/ship.gif for images that need resizing (and then re-rotating). Luckily I forgot how to record an action set for PS so I can't do this in 5 minutes :good:

i think your link is broken. i clicked on it and it didn't show an image. i get a webpage that says "Want to start a website? Let us help!"

 

What happened to playing for fun? :D

I don't know, why don't you play for fun? You rarely ever play. I think you got 50 kills last year? I guess your not having fun.

Bonuses are GONE for this reset ? :D

I know a bunch of people think that would be ok (including me), but i thought you were modifying the system ...... the values would be changed, and adding !fullship, and only available in SAFE, and public macro

When is this post below supposed to take effect then ?

AND I STILL HAD A QUESTION ABOUT THE VALUE OF !SPEED aND !BOOSTER ........ i asked why theyre so low still ... should be higher .... since !DEFENCE is also high, and these others are pretty powerful too, but much cheaper......

 

 

Plan of action:

 

Based on the feedback here (surprising to me in the number of people wanting no bonuses, but it makes sense to me since they break SVS game design, as do ranks) we'll try no bonuses for the next reset (starting this coming Wed).

 

The following reset I currently have these bonus changes, but welcome discussion and feedback (I'm sure there will be comments on both sides)

1) Bonuses always announced in pub chat (as a macro)

2) Bonuses available only in safe

3) New fullship bonus (as detailed above)

4) Reworked bonus pricing structure as follows (changes bolded):

 

AntiWarp - gives you antiwarp (1 Bonus)

Booster - 1 thor 1 burst (2 Bonuses)

Speed - 1 rocket 1 portal (2 Bonuses)

Defense - 1 brick 1 repel (10 Bonuses) // now also accepts british spelling: "defence"

Tuneup - +1 bomb lvl, +1 gun lvl (1 Bonus)

Xradar - 1 x-radar (1 Bonus)

Fullship - completely outfitted ship - full energy, all weapons, x, aw, etc. (3 Bonuses)

Rabbit - 1000 bty prize, arena announcement that you have the rabbit bonus (20 Bonuses)

 

Please keep in mind that we run these as an experiment to see how it actually affects play in the zone. SVS is NO bonuses or ranks. I think that if we keep bonuses for toys (as opposed to bonuses that get you ready to fight, such as fullship) they should be very hard to come by, and should not be decisive in obtaining any zone records, including Reset Winners, Streaks, etc.

 

Some comments on the changes above:

--Antiwarp -- no change

--Booster and Speed -- the fact that I could (with 80 bonuses) shoot off 120 bursts in a row without greening is game breaking imo. This at least cuts that back a bit, along with the safe-only restriction.

--Defense -- no change, but I think it completely breaks SVS game design that you can simply request the most powerful special in the game at any time. At least it would be obtainable in safe only now.

--Tuneup -- kind of useless since it was nerfed to not have nrg upgrades.

--xradar -- unchanged

--Fullship -- I think this is the best example of a good bonus that doesn't break the game design. Only useful when you unluckily spawn with a weak ship.

--Rabbit -- rabbit bty bonus has skewed the Ave numbers a lot. It used to mean a LOT to green to 1k bty (see SVS settings below). 2k was crazy high bty -- 8 hrs play to green it. It is kind of fun to see someone out there with that high bty, but rabbit has also been abused in terms of gifting etc. Raising the price (shouldn't be the same price as Defense anyway) will cut down on it's usage a bit and make it more 'special.'

 

I also plan on putting in Retail Release SVS settings for a day/weekend coming up soon (no ranks during that also). My aim is to do it this Saturday/Weekend.

Speed and Booster bonuses have been tripled ? Because you get less of them right?

(i dont use bonuses very much AT ALL :pardon: )

Ok ... but DEFENCE is 10 bonus, and you only get 1 brick and 1 repel. If 10 bonus reflects THEIR value, then my point is that the other two (Speed and Booster) bonuses are STILL cheap at 2 bonus pts ..... :D

Ya and the zone population once again will probably be cut down by 1/3 as well as Hallu continues to mess with the settings to satisfy cry baby hunters who find it hard to kill a turret. I'm guessing that all of Hallu's changes wont help the population.

 

I'm guessing that turrets will just Ship change in open space since when the hunters come after them because they are mad that they are not allowed to Spend hard earned bonus points when they need them. Hmmmm I wonder which Option will make the hunters more Mad?

 

Option A: turret runs away with bonus points, 1 hour later hunter gets to kill turret with 4,000 bounty

Option B: every 1/2 hour the turret when out of toys or under pressure ship changes in open space so Hunters Never get a big bounty kill.

 

Building macro to Esq Q and Ship change right now baby......

Yeah bursts and rockets etc came at 3 per bonusing, now its just 1 each. So effectively the same thing we could previously bomnus for 2 pts now costs 6.

 

I think Hallu said earlier that he considers the rep the most powerful special there is. And for someone wanting not to die, I guess that's true. That's his argument for keeping it so expensive.

 

But its fair enough to argue that its on a par with 3 bursts + 3 thors for strength. That's up to our personal opinion.

 

WE really gottah get a housekeeper in here to keep each subject contained on a relevant thread. :D Biller is down = bonus argument, How to get players = bonus argument, Bonuses discussion = bonus argument. :good:

Cripes Gad, you're a very good player and usually have a bunch of extra guns attached to you. Have you every thought of just trying to defeat them? :D

No. I let my Mines do my fighting. Its ok if they die.

 

Someone has his panties in a bunch because he can't be lame and use endless bursts and thors (!bonus booster). Gad show us how good you are and play the game without constantly using a bonus. But I am gathering from your posts you can't do it.

 

What happened to playing for fun? :D

 

How about just try playing? You are more useless than ever.

As for the Booster and Speed bonuses ...... im not sure why you said 'its on a par with 3 bursts and 3 thors for strength' ? Even with the new costs, youre getting "5 thors and 5 bursts" or "5 rockets and 5 portals" for the same price as "1 brick and 1 repel" :pardon:

Im not disagreeing about how useful a repel is ..... i spend more time greening for THAT than anything else :D ..... but i think the others are still being undervalued :good:

 

And what about greens ? Are there more greens for thors, bursts, rockets, portals than there are for repels or walls ? Just curious, because I dont know what the percentages are.

LOL @ “hard earned bonus points” :good: I chuckled a bit when I read that :unknw: Allll that effort of mine-repping, and fleeing to hide in Safe Zones ... :)

 

So here we go again ….. more crying :D ….. “cry baby hunters” ….. ironic …… crying about ‘cry baby hunters’ ?

But wait, previous results (with changes to mines) have shown that this works, therefore basic psychology suggests that the behavior will continue or even increase to attain maximum returns :D

Oddly enough, that same experiment showed that any kind of wild claims with nothing to substantiate them are much more effective at getting results.

 

But anyway …….

Option A …. use the same bonus points to assist in running like hell if anyone so much as turns your way (even when it’s a 4-man turret on 1 :D ).

 

Option B ….. youre already pretty lame as it is, why change now ? And btw, if you guys DO want to ship change (or even Esc Q), that means you’ve either been chased out of the zone like a coward (which isnt a big deal to you because thats the norm) and/or youre no longer on your turret … you need to green … and the rest of the zone will probably swarm and kill you ANYWAY :) I know you won’t really mind if we all ignore all other targets and just keep killing you repeatedly …..

 

Option C ….. it seems like you’ve been allowed to cheat REPEATEDLY and gotten away with it so far. Apparently its ok. But who knows, maybe at some point you’ll be banned :D

Hell , I could say that the zone went down by 1/3 DUE to bonuses even being introduced in the first place …. At least the numbers would demonstrate MY argument more so than yours :pardon:

 

I know you’ve had more success with this type of approach where wild claims are enough. But amaze everyone …… explain WHY ? and HOW ?

The zone numbers aren’t exactly increasing as things are. Numbers have gone down over the years (for a variety of reasons).

And are you saying that YOURE going to leave Gad ? That might be an interesting experiment in itself :D

So in case you missed where i referenced your options, ive reposted it.

But i wonder if [Esc Q] or ship changing to avoid deaths ..... by which you artificially affect stats (which seems pretty important to you) ..... would fall under 'cheating' ? :unknw:

But then again, youve already used multiple-computers, for various other reasons to 'cheat' and nothing was done ...... so chances are nothing will be done anyway. Which would explain why you continue to do it :D
