Cheese Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 so today tsm had a good idea what if people could ?give to the ?jackpotsort of like betting on the outcome of the fg my thoughts are getting lolspecced would suck and that hopfags like unix or fagbarz wouldnt be locked to their failteam your thoughts?this is a pretty good idea imo Quote
omni Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Why would people do that? The winning team would just give to jackpot right before they win. Quote
Cheese Posted March 27, 2011 Author Report Posted March 27, 2011 and then what if the losing team touched flags and turned it around? Quote
Kilo Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 What if the jackpot was split instead of giving the full jackpot value to all players? Derp. Quote
Corey Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 wait until 10 seconds till the win. Bet 100k Profit??? Quote
Cheese Posted March 28, 2011 Author Report Posted March 28, 2011 because if 1 player bet 100k on the winning team of 10 players, they would only get 10k back Quote
omni Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 I thought the full jackpot value was given to every player on the team. Quote
Dr Brain Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 because if 1 player bet 100k on the winning team of 10 players, they would only get 10k backOk, then why bet at all? There's nothing stopping you from giving $90k to your teammates as things currently are. Quote
spidernl Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 because if 1 player bet 100k on the winning team of 10 players, they would only get 10k back So.. the 'best case scenario' is receiving all of your money back on a bet?Yeah, I'm going to do that often. Quote
Cheese Posted March 29, 2011 Author Report Posted March 29, 2011 are you people being purposefully dense? whats going to happen to the people gambling on the losing teamdurr Quote
Dr Brain Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Math time. 19+you playing in the arena, two 10 player teams. Best case scenario, everyone contributes exactly $100, and the winning team gets $200 in return. But if you bet $500 and everyone else bets $100, then you get $240. So you've spent 500% of everyone else, and gotten a 140% of the reward. Alternatively, if you bet $0, you get $190 in return. Why bet more? Why bet at all? So everyone has an incentive to bet less than everyone else. Only time you get decent odds are when you have 0 team mates. Sounds more like socialism than gambling. Quote
Kilo Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 because if 1 player bet 100k on the winning team of 10 players, they would only get 10k backNo, they'd get 100k back. Derp. Quote

Cheese Posted March 31, 2011 Author Report Posted March 31, 2011 then you need to work on your trolling Quote
Kilo Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 You probably haven't realized it yet in spite of multiple people saying it but you're making a very hilariously wrong assumption with your idea. Quote
Cheese Posted April 1, 2011 Author Report Posted April 1, 2011 the only notable person that responded was dr brain, and he didnt account for the losing team money Quote
omni Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 (edited) Why would the losing team bet at all? Actually, why would anyone bet at all? It's easier just to let the other team or your own team bet so that you make more money. No one would give their own money to the jackpot when they can just leech off others. What's gonna happen is that no one at all is gonna bet, neither the winning nor the losing team. Edited April 1, 2011 by omni Quote
