@Hoch, the owner and system operator of SSCU Death Star Battle, has posted a message to the zone's news.txt stating that he is stepping down immediatly from his position as server owner, zone owner and system operator.

Hoch appoints Liito as the new owner and Entr0py as the new Head Sysop. His reasons for stepping down come from matters in his personal life; his wife is suffering from ongoing illness which he must divert his attention to, leaving none to spend in his position in Death Star Battle:

I have chosen Liito to be the new owner and Entr0py as Head Sysop. To them both, I am grateful.

The reason for this decision relates to matters in my personal life. Senior members of Staff will recall

that back in September of last year, I took time off from the zone to help my wife who was ill at the time.

Unfortunately, whilst an initial prognosis was positive, this is no longer the case. Neither of us knows

how long this journey will be nor where it will take us. Suffice it to write, I must divert all my energy

and attention to my one and true love with anything else remaining going towards my professional career.

This is not quite how I envisioned my parting words. Actually, I never thought I would leave especially

after 15 years in Subspace with 10 of those years in DSB. However, sometimes destiny chooses our path rather

than us.

If I have one request to all those reading and it is to be good to one another. This community, and make no

mistake about it this is a community, has a tendency to engage in cannibalistic activity. There is a bright

glow of positivity that at times is outshone by fiery ball of negativity. Never lose sight that everyone wants

to achieve the same goal though the route may be different.

Come what may in my personal life, and over the course of time, I would be disappointed (and shocked) not to

find the same vibrant community that I now leave behind.

Finally, for those of you located in the UK take a moment to think about making a donation to Cancer Research

UK (http://www.cancerresearchuk.org). It is a brilliant organisation that gives far more than it receives.

I wish you all well in your future endeavours. Thank you and goodbye.

Cheers,

-Hoch

As sad Hoch's reasons may be, the question that comes to everybody's mind is how Death Star Battle will do under the new appointed leaders.
