What's that supposed to be?

 

The idea is that it functions its antiwarp by warping time itself (to a small degree). It is difficult to control its effects and it leaks around the host ship, warping the time around it. The emitter, however is designed to control this leaking by stabilizing and creating useful effects out of it. Pilots inadequately equipped to control this were known to spontaneously com bust or other unfortunate effects.

Working on semi-large modifications to the current item set at the moment, can't be bothered to write down all the changes, buuut..

Here's the list of changed items:

 

1) Reinforcement

2) Gamma Ray

3) Phoenix Missile

Zone pop has always come back after major item changes. Historically major changes have been accompanied by a reset. I noticed you posted this about the same time I posted my thread. I think what you're doing here + reset + what I said in my thread would be a killer combo for curing population problems.

 

EDIT: +Finals ending, summer coming

 

And conquest will be the icing on the cake.

I think what I said will still work without a reset. And it will make population retain longer after a reset when you finally do reset. Edited by Arry

I'm mainly altering items that seem 'out of place', could be balanced a little better, or just had no use.

So, for the 3 mentioned items:

 

1) Reinforcement now has a role as an armor that provides some overall protection. Not a lot, and I'm certain other armors are more useful 9/10 times, but now it has some use. It also offers some early bomb protection during resets.

 

2) Gamma ray was just pulse with a tiny bit more delay and a tiny bit less energy use, which in my opinion was kind of pointless. It did have a role when ammo existed, but when ammo was removed, Gamma Ray was largely obsolete. Maybe it won't be anymore, now.

 

3) Phoenix was an item I never really got the balance right on. I hope I did now.

 

Edit: my point here is that changes like these will rarely affect existing ships, and therefore a reset is not necessary.

Added the Evoker, a limited summoning device that can be used by Spiders, Leviathans and Lancasters without giving up an FTL slot.

It does take an Addon and Signature slot, though.

The limitation is that it can only summon Warbirds, Javelins, Terriers and Weasels.

 

Hope this'll help with small-scale flaggames where getting a lanc gives up such a large percent of the team's firepower that it's better not to get one.

Fix Gamma Ray please.

I'll explain why nerfing Gamma was pointless. Where Gamma used to be a more efficient, less DPS version of Pulse, it is now a more efficient, less DPS version of Shredder. You said you changed it because it was "redundant"; it is still redundant yet now a weaker item, without reason. It was not obsolete. Many people used it for its superior efficiency.

 

Other than that, you effectively nerfed my Warbird. I worked hard getting Mole to make it as efficient as possible. In a single, swift motion you took that efficiency away. A lot of effort just went to waste. That ship was the only thing that kept me interested in the game still. Now I have none and will not be returning.

Despite that being complete nonsense (double the delay and half the energy use is a massive difference making Shredder and the changed Gamma completely different guns), I figured that yet another spam gun in Hyperspace wasn't that great, soooo..:

do everyone a favor. and let us know what guns u are tweaking, i sold my phaser which costs a buckload for that red spam gun, and now its gone and did not get my money back.

 

Somewhere at the start of this topic I stated that pretty much everything I do can be changed/reverted/deleted/whatever at will.

It's pretty obvious that when I've just changed an item I may do so again.

why just make it not sig instead

 

You should be able to figure out the answer to that yourself.

It might have to do with the fact that pretty much every Spider or Levi will get it if it's just a single Addon sacrifice to have summon.

Modified Evoker's additional (armor-like) bonuses to fit more into the 'Addon' slot - They're now antiwarp-, xradarenergy reductions. -Explodepixels stayed.

It also grants a small amount of map/radar zoom, similar to Combat Sensors.
