At first I thought "jump engines? what the hell is that?" :p

also, for the shield test item, what if you had it be a fixed lvz that moves with the ship and goes away when it absorbs a certain amount of bullets, instead of awkwardly popping up in 2 or 3 places at once during rushing?

That's a really interesting idea. You could have it start up the lvz and do some sort of pulsing then shut off once the shield has reached depletion.

You think I wouldn't have went with a moving, fluid LVZ image if I had the choice? Fact is, it'd look choppy and you'd see it hop around trying to follow the player it belongs to.

You can only have 'fluid' animations as 'screenobjects', since they can stay in the center of your screen. But then nobody else would see your shield (which isn't as cool as the current system imo).

 

Edit: The jump engine change I did because it means newbies can play around with fancy effects like jumpgates, and with some luck be somewhat useful to their team in the process (by giving them quick HT access after being cleared, things like that).

also a mount called thorstorm,signature,lets you carry 6-10 thors(i want 10) and make bomb delay 30(3 tthors per second) and bomb energy 100000(no bombs)

also weighs ship down,it is good for weasel or lev or any other thor ship but sacrafises bomb catability and ship speed due to the additional load of 10 thors!!!

 

also mounts with 10 repels,a mount with 10 bursts,and you get the idea,signature mounts that focus on one thing,they can have things such as slowing your ship down,but with 10 repels dont slow shipdown,or else it cant rush

also, impulse needs a buff, because it is currently terrible

at +4/+7 it makes you trade 2 rc for 1 thr, which is dumb

how many people use this?

 

maybe reduce -recharge to -1, or make it 4spd/8thr, or 5spd/7thr

On that note about lowering recharge/energy - Would it be possible to have weapons that lower energy/recharge, but in return give back a better weapon of some sort? Whether it be efficiency or level upgrade, etc.

actually thought about that, first that it was a bad idea

it would just make a weapon that has different effects on ships

a weapon with -rc would be worst on terr/shark and best on wb/jav

so maybe not too horrible in concept

It makes you trade 2 recharge for 1 thrust compared to what item?

 

if you add spd+thr, you get 11, which is closest to carnot, which is 5+5=10

as opposed to other sublights like 8/8 for nuc, 9/10 for hydra, 5/5 for carnot, etc

 

So you just changed your own mind in your own reply, nice!

w/e, systems of measurement dont matter

you could look up how many people are using it compared to other sublights to see that noone uses it

point is that impulse sucks and needs to be changed

For a lot of items that is true, but for some it isnt.

 

There was a time when the vast majority thought that Flash Drive sucked in comparison to Omega Drive and no one used it.

 

Items that are more niche items are naturally not going to be used as much, such as Tunnel Runner. The items that have pros/cons though, I do believe should have a second look at if there are very few users.

 

Items that should be looked at:

Oracle - More of a niche item, but at the same time, the next emitter item has usage of nearly 6x as much.

Unimatrix - Less than 30 users (Solid) and at the same time is available to ALL ships.

Chaos Field - The field itself needs a buff while at the same time Coffin Maker requires a nerf.

Nadion/Polaric/Quad - All three need to have a look at, each have less than 45 users. Nadion/Polaric most likely is because the negatives outweigh the benefits, and Quad simply because the benefits dont exceed the sig intrinsic value. This would also apply to Unimatrix/Oracle, more so Oracle.

Semiwarp/Avi/Impulse - All have less than 25 users.

also, you 'fixed' pd because it 'fired through walls'

you can probably make coffins stop firing while people are dead

you can also make it stop bursting people that arent within the lvz boundaries, because i know you know it fires at people just outside them
