L.C. Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 (edited) Why is it difficult to accept the fact that no matter what, you cannot bring back the "good old days"? The population will continue to go the path it will go, and there is nothing you can do to ultimately stop or influence it. It is a natural part of life and reality. If you play this game because it is fun, then that is good (but does not change the facts). If you are in this game for reasons other than because you play this game because it is fun to pew pew other players, then you are coming from the wrong direction. But if you still find this game fun and enjoyable to actually play, even if your heart behind ideas is right, trying to change the reality at hand is ignorant of itself. Do you actually play this game, as in pew pew'ing other players, because it is fun? Or are you actually bored and trying to find and make fun? What do you actually do in SubSpace these days? Are you mostly just hanging out in chat and socializing? How much of your time that you spend in-game do you actually spend in a ship pew pew'ing (percentage-wise)? Edited February 18, 2011 by L.C. Well for myself, I spend my time in the game, the same as I did when I started.. I don't spec much, when I play it's only in increments of 30 min to an hour, between breaks of 2 hours where I close the game and do something irl. Usually any zone pub is enough to satisfy me, in fact I find pub more fun than leagues. But I doubt this game will ever die. It is probably wrong to view things that way. Life is not one point to another and it ends. Even time isn't linear. It's about cycles. In a circle everything returns back to the way it was one way or another. There are games much older than Subspace which still have 500 people on a day. There are people out there who specifically look for low end spec games, or 2D games, because they enjoy those more or their PC can handle it. I know tons of people who prefer SNES over any modern game today, and tons more who like text based games. As long as our get-continuum website stays up, and the zones. Then the game will never reach zero players, or even under 100 in my opinion. Edited February 18, 2011 by Avast Quote
Dav Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 all depends on what the community does in the future. There is a huge appetite for this kind of game on the mobile platform atm, but we just don't have the developmental power to make it happen any time soon. Quote
Cheese Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 but what im wondering is how you can play it on a 500x300 screen >_> Quote
TLordTango Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 How about a different approach: each zone that's on ASSS adds ?go to their arenas. Like ?go EG in TW. i.e. each zone has ?go EG, ?go TW, ?go HS, etc, etc. Cut out the effort of quitting the game and logging back in again and you've effectivly made 1 continuous zone already, with many login points. PoLiX Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 EG Has: ?go tw and ?go chaos that I know of.TW Has: ?go chaos, ?go eg, and ?go scrabble (EG) that I know ofChaos Has: ?go tw, forget if we added ?go eg They are there. The downside to ?go is that the zone you ?go into is then downloaded into the previous zone. IE: ?go tw from Chaos will download anything you visit in TW to the SSCX Chaos/League Zone SVS folder. So that does cause some headaches with redownloading everything. Also iirc SSCE zones & Powerball can only do it 1 way. I think they can send, but not be sent to. Quote
Kilo Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 There used to be some nonsense, with an asss bug and the biller being silly, but it should be resolved now. Either way, peering and redirects are not exactly ideal. Quote

dezmond Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 TW Has: ?go chaos, ?go eg, and ?go scrabble (EG) that I know of?go rumble takes you to 17th Parallel. Quote
2pacZ Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 How about we have a zone called sscu or zone or w/e, in the main arena it lists the zones and screenshots and stuff gives you info on how to go to them and a newb guide. The arean's will be in esc+a Quote
