L.C. Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) I am making a fansite for http://www.eatandys.com/. Nope, they never asked me to do it. I came up with this idea, and since I love the custards and the company so much, I am going to make my idea a reality. http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/xhtml/EatAndys-Database/Site%20v3/index.html (base)http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/xhtml/EatAndys-Database/Site%20v3/database.html (complete)http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/xhtml/EatAndys-Database/Site%20v3/details.html (complete)http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/xhtml/EatAndys-Database/Site%20v3/statistics.html (complete; may make a couple modifications as to what is shown though)http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/xhtml/EatAndys-Database/Site%20v3/generator.html (complete; may make a couple modifications) Andy's Frozen Custard is a fast-food chain that produces custard (not ice cream). The custard alone doesn't have much taste, but when you blend it together with some things, it is one of the best things you could ever have. There are thirty toppings, not including seasonal toppings. This allows for a tremendous amount of unique combinations. So the idea is to have a database of custard and topping combinations, generated by user submissions and reviews. In addition, there will be a generator (which uses random.org for true randomness) that can come up with a random combination, in case a person is bored of eating the same thing all the time and wants to try something new and different. The first step was to produce skeletal and conceptual material. CompleteThe second step is to place them into the website template and style them (and make sure there is at least a decent level of cross-compatibility). CompleteThe third step is to document what the website should do function-wise. CompleteThe fourth step is passing off the document to a programmer (a buddy of mine in this case whom I have paid well) to write the back-end and integrate forms on the front-end. CompleteThe fifth step is public/private testing of the website, presenting the website to Corporate, and going officially live with the website. Work in progress There is a potential we may be able to go live within the next 7 days. Edited April 8, 2011 by L.C. Quote
L.C. Posted April 8, 2011 Author Report Posted April 8, 2011 Woo! This morning at 4AM we finished it! Greetings! Last night we were working all night on our Andy’s Frozen Custard fansite project and finished at 4AM this morning (I went to bed at around 4:30-4:45AM). Right now we are doing low scale, preliminary testing by sharing only with family, friends, and co-workers to get some input and reactions. Later it will go full on, all out with publicity with links to and from Andy’s Frozen Custard website (and their Facebook group page), as well as likely news coverage by KY3 and such. You can find the website at http://www.custardmixer.com/ Sincerely,Joshua Szanto Quote
