CDB-Man Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 I'm sure many of us remember the original "HS scholars" thread here: http://forums.ssgn.net/topic/23027-hs-scholars/ Well, it's a year and a half later (1 year and 9 months, but who's counting!), and I just thought that I'd probe what everyone is doing and what their plans are after the "Great Recession" took hold and wiped out many job (opportunities). I'm studying accounting 1st year with CO-OP at the University of Ottawa. Quote
Swift Warrior Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Final semester in BSc in Computer Engineering Nanoscale Systems Design at University of Alberta and failing hard at finding a job that I want to do. Quote
»Blocks Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 I'm getting a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 9 days. After that I am taking the summer off to be awesome, and then will work at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.Things pretty much went according to plan. Those 9 days went well and I got my degree. After that I took a multi-month road trip to Alaska, stopping in New York along the way. Lazed around at my mom's house for a while, and started work in the robotics research section of JPL a little over a year ago, where I've been since. Quote

Dr Brain Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (not to be confused with Computer Science). Hopefully I'll have my Master of Science in Electrical Engineering soon. I'm defending my thesis tomorrow. I got my MS and now one of my classmates and I are in business for ourselves. Quote
JoWie Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) Going to start a Master of Science in software architecture at the end of the year. Funny about the recession is that it allowed out company to double in size, while a company next door went bankrupt. Edited February 6, 2011 by JoWie Quote
op2rules Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 And I too hope to one day study something epic like all of you guys! Quote
