🜲 PoLiX Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 Every evening SSGN's server runs a back up of itself. Lately this back up has seemed to cause issues with the directory server wanting to crash and not restart properly. After a bit of searching and reading, I was able to find out how to add it to CPanel's service monitor with auto restart. I purposely crashed it once, and CPanel "automagically" restarted it with no issues. This should now keep "sscentral.com" up and running 24/7/365 (minus DC maintenance downtimes). ★ Maverick Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) Nice, good work. How long is the time CPanel takes to find out a service has crashed though? 🜲 PoLiX Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 Seems it checks every 2-5mins. It has varied from when I crashed it to when it reported it failed and it was restarting it. Cpanel considers it right now as important of a service as the firewall, apache, mysql, php, etc. SSForum.net - September 01, 2002 - Rowen (SSDownloads.Com), PoLiX (SSCentral.Com), and Cyberise (Subspace.Net)
