of course it is. My old avatar was my ferret when she was a 6 month kit (ferret babies are called kits). My current one is an updated picture of my ferret at a year and a half of age.

I think it's capacity to have prox. (i.e. it is possible to adjust whether a player. can have prox. or not, but it may be impossible to adjust the prox. radius individually between players :D )

the prox radius might need some testing before a set radius should be made

If it's to easy to hit a target with prox then we'll have the same jav problem we used to have

skilled people do not need a huge prox at all

exactly. a lot of people are in maxed javs with blue bombs, kill inferior ships, start thinking they're really good, and then get dismayed when they lose to red bombs blum.gif

 

as a general suggestion, it might be better to have smaller prox. radii (to the point that the prox. radius for a level 1 bomb is almost non-existent), but have bomb velocities be slightly faster to compensate. this may be a little more fair since it'll take more skill to shoot bombs that require more precision, and at the same time, be harder to dodge, since they're faster moving. also, m!@#$%^&*-killing (shooting random bombs into a crowd of people) will be less effective, since without such a large prox. radius they will miss much more often.

And remember the ship settings are completely different so this is refering to old style jav bombing

I think that prox shouldn't be anymore than half of what is was before so that some skill is needed to bomb someone at least

I simply said as a general suggestion, it may be better to have faster bombs, but smaller prox. radii. It's a basic trend I had in mind, though I can't really say anything until the new settings come out. Halving the radius of current prox. bombs is quite reasonable though.

 

btw, I think he meant shrapnel spray, instead of sharp spay

I'm not trying to make you look foolish

I'm usually too busy making Wargh and Dav look foolish lol

It was just a reminder that HS's new settings need to be tested before we can really comment on them to make them perfect

Although until HS comes back up I don't think I'll have much to add in developmental opinions so lets just wait and see what we have to work with and then we can make our constructive criticism on the settings

I agree, I don't think we should really suggest anything for the settings, since completely new ones are being developed. Weapons and upgrades are also hard to comment one, as a very different system is also in development. In the meantime while we wait for HS to come online, we should concentrate our efforts to bash Wargh and Dav. hehe just kidding :D

That could be fun

having a kill pool such that whoever can get the mosts kills between flag games or a powerball event could win a separate JP

having it be able to be turned on and off would even allow it to be it's own event

Sup, Dr Brain has awesome ideas, but I have to add something. There should be wormholes that pop up in the arena. I'm talking about random places controlled by another bot or something. Making it harder for nme to catch flaggers and stuff. I don't know if that's a good idea though. What do you people think? :ph34r:

Oh and also if something like a flashbang but it clears like bullets and bombs and mines off the screen ONLy. More like a Powerful repel but makes everything disappear. Only like weapons not the ships themselves blum.gif

Well I think that you are trying to come up with ideas which is cool but random warp wormholes would really get annoying and would probably be hated by all that goes for the bullet repel also

well right now, the uber-repel sounds really cheap. It's a decent idea, and I suppose with some careful balancing and/or countermeasures it can be fixed and eventually added.

 

The random wormholes I think is a bad idea. Unless there is some way of consistently predicting them and/or averting them, then it just adds a huge luck factor into flag games, which is bad (e.g. if someone with all the flags randomly gets warped and killed, he'd be pissed). Again, unless there is some way involving skill to evade the wormholes (as opposed to just dumb luck blum.gif ), I don't think it should be implemented.

here's the thing with random wormholes, there are two ways you can do it. One is to have the bot (somehow) change the map. This wouldn't work because you'd be constantly kicked. The other one is to have a set number of locations with lvzs of the wormhole that appear in conjunction with the server checking your position and warping you to where the other end of the wormhole (the other wormhole image) is. Then wormholes could close and open somewhere else, lasting for like a minute. If you get them running on a regular schedule, it might be a good idea. The only issue is that the wormholes wouldn't be random, but in set locations.
