»SD>Big Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 since tablets first came out a long time ago (hp i think?), anyways long before the ipad, i've always asked myself in what kind of situation i would need/use one. between my phone and my laptop and my desktop, i don't see a practical use for it. maybe ebooks but really a dedicated ebook reader with e-ink is the way to go for that, so much better on the eyes and battery life. to dev on android, if that's what you want to do, is a good fit if your phone is another OS Quote

BDwinsAlt Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 The only thing that scares me about using an emulator is I can develop the software, thinking it's working, but can't test it in landscape mode (can I?) and I would really like to have a hands on device to test on. If anyone has an android phone they aren't using, send it my way . Also, I'm thinking about rooting my phone, just didn't want to risk bricking it. I have an HTC Aria if anyone is familiar with rooting that one. Quote

Carriers are absolutly useless at pushing updates. Anyway back OT, I would be happy to alpha/beta test any work if you mail me the APKs.
