Deathmonger Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Energy scanner is a tool used by vulchers to attack people when their energy is low. It has no counter. So. here's an idea for a new emitter item: Energy ScramblerEmitterInstead of displaying the normal recharge energy, this is replaced by a number that counts up from 1 to 200 and then cycles back. This makes the target always appear as though it is "in the red" energy-wise, but it actually may be at full strength. Vulchers will now find themselves attacking someone with this device and be very sorry. A simpler implementation of this might be to just show full energy all the time. Anyway , the idea is to deceive energy scanner users. Quote
Swift Warrior Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 you do know decoy already hides the energy right? Quote
Kilo Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Anything else appropriate to add to the item that would make you use it over getting your own energy scanner (or actually useful emitter?) Quote
Deathmonger Posted January 11, 2011 Author Report Posted January 11, 2011 Yes I know decoy hides it. I was thinking more of something that deliberately provides false information to the other vulcher, to lure them into attacking and then they get surprised. That would be amusing and might discourage vulching. Maybe decoy could have this feature instead of just hiding the energy to Arnk's point. Let's say we were to morph the decoy/port module into something more of an Illusion Projector. Here are some ideas: - A fake coffin generator. Looks just like a coffin field, but doesn't do any damage- Fake or mini cobalt dropper- Fake bricks Quote
Samapico Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 the point of decoy hiding energy is so the decoy cannot be recognized right away... and its impossible to make false information show up under a decoy, so no Quote
Cheese Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 fake bricks would be difficult to add, even with lvz however, fake fields and fake cobalts are a great idea, and would be easy to add Quote
Samapico Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 fake bricks can be done with lvz relatively easily... but the easiest way would mean having them laid full-size (or a fixed-size), no matter where the walls are at... they could be under the tiles though. But you could easily notice a false brick if it goes through the wall, but then again, you can easily notice it when you go through it. Also, if player from team 90 lays one, it should appear as a brick from team 91... so the enemy feels they are protected, but they're not Quote
