CDB-Man Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Hey Dr. Brain, D1st0rt, or anyone who may know.... Are there certain characters which are invalid and will not work when I set a local password with ?passwd ? My password contains irregular characters such as `~!@#$%^&*()_+-={}[]:;"'|\?/><., ie, are backslashes interpreted as escape characters? Quote
Dr Brain Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I haven't checked the code, but I'd assume the only character not handled properly (that you can input) would be spaces and characters above ASCII 127 (e.g. ß). Quote
JoWie Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) ASSS directly takes the input and hashes it. So everything in windows-1252 should work (note that continuum does not have graphics for all of them). Continuum may not like them in the login screen tho. Edited January 9, 2011 by JoWie Quote
L.C. Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 (Note: I changed password before posting this.) Password for L.C. included characters #[}_'1-+)<` [/] (yes, even a space character), so I can confirm that at least those characters work. Quote
Dr Brain Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Please note that the password you give ?passwd is only utilized when the billing server is unavailable, so it's difficult to say for sure that it has worked. Quote
Samapico Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Spaces should work, but spaces at the start or at the end of the password might not... someone should run some tests on a local asss server Quote
PlayWolf Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Eh, I changed my pass so many times due to forget when I wanted to change the computer. And with my part time studies, spaces was unsuccessful. Lmao. Had to Lostpassword. XD Quote
