What is your preferences on the player list box?

First question: the poll.

Sort by:

1. Do not show player box. It will only show if you press Page Up/Down, and disappear after a couple seconds. When it does show, it sorts like #2 and shows only Player names.
   
2. Player name (alphabetically). The game splits this into two groups: the current frequency you are on versus all frequencies except for the one you are currently on. It will show everyone on your frequency in alphabetical listing, and then followed by everyone else in alphabetical listing; basically two alphabetized lists
   
3. Same as previous (#2), but shows points of each player
   
4. Points (greatest to least)
   
5. Frequency (yours first, then everyone else' frequency from 0 to 99; not sure how it handles private frequencies
   
6. Same as #2 and #3, but additionally shows Squad, Wins, Loses, Ratio, and Average
   
7. Same as #5 but ONLY shows Frequency, Points (the sum of), Wins (the sum of), Loses (the sum of), and Flags for columns; sorted by your frequency first, then 0-99, then unknown handling for private frequencies
   

 

Second question: how do you prefer your player box? If you could choose, where would you want the player box to be and/or how would you want it to pop-up or display?

 

Your responses would be greatly appreciated! This is a research.

I like to sort my list by (#5) Frequency. Why? Probably because it has something to do with the way my mind thinks. I like to have things organized by teams, because after all, that is what I am against. It shows points too, which is useful for buying (if the zone allows it).

 

As far as the where and the how, I don't know. Some games have the player box (or "scoreboard") show up in the middle of the screen when you press and hold a button (disappears when you let go); these take up a significant amount of space on the screen and are directly in the way of the playing field (or the crosshairs). I like it when the scoreboard is off to the side / in a corner somewhere, and I like it when games give me a separate hot key to toggle the scoreboard/player list on and off. I like to different sorts/information better than others (this opinion differs from player to player though), but I don't like having to cycle through the entire different ways the game can sort (to get to my favorite sort) when I turn off the player box in Continuum.

I press F2 a few times to get to #6 and check my record cuz I like to praise myself for doing so good, then I press it a few more times to get rid of it.

I would guess most players would have it organized by freq since the most populated zones generally require you to be attaching to your teammates often. You wouldn't want to have to be scrolling up and down looking for a teammate when every second matters. Edited January 9, 2011 by Wormhole Surfer
