Resol Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 I was wondering if there is a specific day when scores are reset, and what day that is. Or if there is some place that gives this information.
🜲 Samapico Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 every 2 wednesdays... unless this changed http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/88/Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg/120px-Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg.pngDCME co-developerSSCU 17th Parallel sysop
★ Maverick Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 (edited) Check out http://www.trenchwars.org/?v=pubstats , it "tracks" the score resets. Resol Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 Thats interesting, how could I track the score resets on my website??
🜲 Samapico Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Wouldn't be surprised if it was just hardcoded as 'every 2 weeks on wednesday', at whatever time it happens http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/88/Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg/120px-Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg.pngDCME co-developerSSCU 17th Parallel sysop
Resol Posted January 5, 2011 Author Report Posted January 5, 2011 Hmmm... I am currently running Direct ASSS Web Stats, (DAWS) coded by Smong. It doesn't do anything upon score resets, so I have to do it manually anyway. Have a look see, Web Stats.
★ Maverick Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) Wouldn't be surprised if it was just hardcoded as 'every 2 weeks on wednesday', at whatever time it happensNope, the bot that saves all the public statistics to the database monitors arena messages for the message that says "NOTICE: Public scores reset" and then closes the score reset period (after generating the summary stats from the current period). Unfortunately it might happen that a score reset period lasts 4 weeks instead of 2 because of the bot missing the arena message but so far I think that hasn't happened very often. 🜲 Samapico Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 A mod could easily confuse the bot http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/88/Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg/120px-Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg.pngDCME co-developerSSCU 17th Parallel sysop
★ Maverick Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) Ofcourse but that's with all bots and plugins that depend on *arena, *zone, *szone or network messages (because all these messages get the same kind of message type id -- arena message). Resol Posted January 5, 2011 Author Report Posted January 5, 2011 LOL! So is that why I have seen the "NOTICE: Public scores reset" message happen 2 times on the same day before? :Polix:Hey could you send that message again, our bot missed it hehe
★ Maverick Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 Polix doesn't send the message, the biller does. He can technically send the message biller-wide again but I hope he's smart enough not to do it Check out your zone population statistics at stats.sshq.net! 🜲 PoLiX Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Last I checked, score resets were done by a program outside of the biller itself. It is automated. Kind like names are reset by a seperate program. SSForum.net - September 01, 2002 - Rowen (SSDownloads.Com), PoLiX (SSCentral.Com), and Cyberise (Subspace.Net)
