EDIT: Here is our world map..http://www.hlrse.net/.minecraft/overview-day/http://www.hlrse.net/.minecraft/overview-night/http://www.hlrse.net/.minecraft/tectonicus/ The entire Tectonicus render is about 2.63GB total and the day and night overviews with Minecraft Overviewer (GMap) both sum up to about 300MB. »Lynx Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Yep, wasted a LOT of time on this game. Don't get it if you have anything important to do. Quote
General Shadow Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Played this game for none-stop for about a week. Then realized winter break was almost over lol Quote
»Lynx Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Here's the world that my flat mates and I have been working on. It's a shame you can't view layers (I don't think so anyway) - but there's a mine cart going from the small island on the far right to the central spawn point underground. We started working in one of the early alphas and had to spawn in ice, and we used a little TNT when we wondered how it would work... So it's not completely cheat free Quote
»gallitin Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Played for a while but got bored. How are you connecting with others thought the mmuktiplayer was a ways out? Quote
»SD>Big Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 i think you can play multiplayer on a local connection? i may be way off on that Quote
»Lynx Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Yeah you can, that's how I usually play. You can also play multiplay on the net. Quote
L.C. Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 One way to play multiplayer via LAN with yourself and a buddy is to host the server version on your machine, and then login to Minecraft on the same machine with an obviously incorrect username and password (this will allow you to play in offline mode), and then connect to yourself under multiplayer (127.0.0.1). Have another computer legitimately logged in under your account (or buddy's account), and just connect via LAN and LAN IP. This is one way my buddy does it. At the moment, with three players (plus me connected to 127.0.0.1) the peak upstream throughput I have seen is somewhere between 64 KB/s and 128 KB/s (0.5Mbps to 1Mbps). Game will keep you playing until you have technologically gained everything (most likely climaxes here), and if not here, after you've pretty much made every item in the game. Quicker way to get bored of this game is to cheat. Quote
L.C. Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 How many of you have this game or have tried it? Quote

»1587200 Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 I've been playing this game so much that while I was at work, I swore I heard a creeper behind me. Turned out it was a rock stuck in my shoe scraping the floor as I walked. In addition to that, I've totally had numerous dreams involving this damn game...must keep digging... Quote
