kid Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 it is long and has tons of bomblines. what is this, amateur hour? Quote
omnomnom Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 It is rigged. A Spider or Leviathan dep could probably win against a Lancaster with summon with a base of that size if they started from the very front. A Summon Lanc like this just seals the attacker's grave... best hope on attacking is to have some flags or the defenders are not at the front of the base their self. Quote
P Nut Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 The larger the FG, the more rigged it gets. 5v5? No problem. 10v10 and the offensive team won't even make it past the second corridor. It should be noted that this base was not designed by our usual, experienced, mapper. The previous base made by Myollnir was removed only after a few days. To see this one on the map for two weeks is a joke. I don't want to hurt his feelings or anything but he just does not have the capacity to properly plan and execute a successful base design in its entirety. Quote
Yupa Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 IME this kind of bitching is what kills zones. People no doubt have a shitload of FUN in that base. Sometimes it's not your turn, that should make it more fun when it is. Quote

The base has its fun aspects, yes. But the base is long. EDIT: Its length is not so fun unless you like your stacked odds. Wouldn't people want a fair game? Edited December 14, 2010 by omnomnom Quote
Emit Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 what you really need to pay attention to is the inconsistencies of every base on the map. There are bases that are longer and narrower b4,b5 that takes more time to attack, then there are shorter bases. it's result of bad mappers Quote
Corey Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Ya who made the map. They should be fired. Quote
espo Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 nah, the base just needs to be 86ed and a different one put in its place. Quote

Sometimes it's not your turn, that should make it more fun when it is. If a base is impossible to attack then there is no incentive to have a flag game at all. It will be whoever grabs that base first, wins. Instead of "sometimes it's your turn", it will be "sometimes there is an engaging flag game." A flag game is fun when both parties have an equal chance at winning. A back and forth battle of effort and skill. Edited December 14, 2010 by P Nut Quote
Yupa Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Both parties never have an equal chance. Quote
P Nut Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 (edited) An equal chance given by the environment. Which in most of Corey's new bases is present. Edited December 15, 2010 by P Nut Quote

Even if it DID bring a "shitload of FUN" to the zone a base that unbalanced doesn't belong in an already imbalanced zone. Quote
espo Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 Better yet, get rid of base 5 (it's too long) and replace it with an even longer base that spans two sectors. Quote
Corey Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 better yet, take a look at the actual bases in sectors 4 and 5 before comming and posting another useless post here. Quote
