Emit Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) for christmas, that is all. Please and thankyou Private freqs for flagging** Edited December 11, 2010 by Emit Quote
Zasso Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 Agreed.Just to test things out again. Could never hurt to give privs a chance.. $Cap @ max10, with # of players not exceeding the largest freq. Quote
P Nut Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 Do it. Player cap should be 4-5, though. Any more and only a single group of people would dominate all week. Quote
op2rules Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 One week? Bring them back forever Quote
espo Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) Pnut has a point. If privs are 10max, one team will dominate all week and there will be a lot of crying. Making privs 5 or 6 max seems like a good solution but you will get more than two flagging teams at times and then there will be a lot of crying about flanking. The flanking will give the defenders an advantage Edited December 11, 2010 by eSpO~ Quote
op2rules Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 (edited) Make them the good ol' classic 7 that was a good number Edited December 12, 2010 by op2rules Quote
omnomnom Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 (edited) If privs are 10max, one team will dominate all week and there will be a lot of crying.Ya, crying is possible. However there is no jackpot to milk, and the reward factors exp. There may not be as much motivation to stack a team. There is also no bounty bonus in base anymore.Making privs 5 or 6 max seems like a good solution but you will get more than two flagging teams at times and then there will be a lot of crying about flanking. The flanking will give the defenders an advantageI agree. Flanking is in my opinion one of the worst things about privs in the past. Not only is it flanking, but you'd get to deal with more people then your team. Defenders practically get a free pass thanks to the attackers being flanked by another full sized team. EXP based reward system could be a good way to discourage stacking. If thought necessary it could even be modified to further discourage a stacked team in the reward. People may try to balance it theirself by hopping so the reward is good, which might be interesting to see? But flanking when the flanks don't come from the defender's numbers it just sucks. You are almost guaranteed to fail imo. Edited December 12, 2010 by omnomnom Quote

Zasso Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Bumpz. I wish to see this holiday season full of joy, love, and no incompetent people on my team. Please bring back privs to fulfill my wish. Quote
omnomnom Posted December 26, 2010 Report Posted December 26, 2010 (edited) In Hyperspace, back a long time ago around the time Relos was created, Hyperspace was different. Repels and Bursts were stronger. Gunlines lasted longer. Antideath happened every death that wasnt right after an AD. Bomblines were harder to get through, as shrap lasted as long as guns did and that was a while. Good use of Repels and Bursts were essential. There was Privs. Today both Repels and Bursts are weaker. Gunlines lasts shorter. Antideath happens every 120 seconds. Bomblines are easier to get through. Good use of Repels and Bursts is still essential. There is no Privs. When you reflect upon these days, clearly, the answer is to bring back Privs for a week. Edited December 26, 2010 by omnomnom Quote

PlayWolf Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 Do it. Player cap should be 4-5, though. Any more and only a single group of people would dominate all week. I think privs is great, but even with 3 people can still be dominating. If they was rich enough. Quote
Unix Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Three people cannot dominate, even if there is a strong flank. Quote
PlayWolf Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 it's possible but not probable. Quote
Unix Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 No, it's not possible nor probable. It's been attempted and you just cant. If you think about it logistically, the lanc would have to drop flags, then the two would have to rush nonstop, but even if one leak happens, which is more than likely to happen when all you have is two rushers, the lancs will reset flags or flags will get reset by enemy touching, if you have to chase a leak, one of the rushers has to go back, so now you have one rusher. Just not possible. Quote
PlayWolf Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 yea, but now it's just that, terr and spider spamming trap this way and that, they don't want to drop, lanc stays close just to defend flags, they spam and rep and field using all they can to defense. leakers try to leak but the spam is just enough to keep them out, now to say, you're isolating just 2 teams. there will be multiple. flanks from other teams flanking teams to flank the teams! constantly. defending team has it good for awhile. because there won't be a 2 teams but there will be multiple teams, yet to say 3v3 it's possible to defend a base with just 2 people and 1 lancaster. like i said. It's POSSIBLE but not probable. Quote
Unix Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 It's a three man priv team vs who knows how many on a pub team. Of coures if it's 3v5v5 then yeah it's possible, but on normal team sizes of 10 or so, 3v10v10 is impossible to "win" the flag game, at least from the start, meaning 0 dropped flags and they start attacking, of course they can hold the enemy back for a while, but in the end they wont win.
