Why are there white rings when I fire?

Haven't played in a while, downloaded continuum onto this laptop and there are white rings when pushing ctrl to fire the first time, and successively upon beginning to fire. It is really distracting and doesn't seem to change by messing with options. Whats the deal?

You can disable this in the configuration for your mouse in the windows control panel

Sounds like one of the disability features of Windows is turned on.

Yup... Control panel -> Mouse options -> Pointer options -> Show mouse position when CTRL is pressed

 

 

If it's activated, it should do it no matter if you're playing Continuum or not...
