Not one thanksgiving topic? What is wrong with you people.

What did you guys do/going to do for Thanksgiving?

I went to my aunts yesterday for the BIG thanksgiving dinner and tomorrow I'm going to my moms for another dinner with just my immediate family. I love having two turkeys.

"Thanksgiving" in Canada was "celebrated" like... a month ago? And by "celebrated" I mean "we don't work today and we just sleep all day".

It seems as if Thanksgivings is celebrated as much as Christmas in the US... I think we got over the whole religious aspect of it a while ago, that's why we don't care much anymore.

Its because we AMERICANS are actually thankful for what we have because we arent a bunch of socialist pansies that recieve everything - including their health - from the government. We work hard for what we've got, and we are thankful for it - because we are blessed, and Canada sucks. 8)

What is thanksgiving about anyway, the only thing I ever see about it are turkeys and indians.

I know a few people (< 20) who would be in bed 24 hours a day without our health system, so for me it always comes of as very odd when someone preaches about health systems ala survival of the fittest.

Thanksgiving is about humbly giving thanks to God for everything you have. Everything else is a bonus.

Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada. Traditionally, it has been a time to give thanks for a bountiful harvest. While there was an underlying religious element in the original celebration, Thanksgiving today is primarily identified as a secular holiday.

Though earlier feasts are known to have taken place "Thanksgiving" as it is known and celebrated today derives from a joint celebration between the Pilgrim settlers of Plymouth, Massachusetts and members of the Native American Patuxet tribe of the Wampanoag people in 1621
