... Is really a Spacestation.

 

 

Look at the simularity between the spacestation tile and the UFO-like thing from the video:

Downside being nothing unique was ever done with it. Always wondered if they had bigger plans for it.

ive never seen the intro video, or at least i remember 0% of it, so i have never known what a spacestation was supposed to be

always just assumed it was a space-buoy

Funny how you think it was a UFO. I don't know how it doesn't look like a space station. :clapping:

 

You have 640x480 videos I assume; they are pretty good quality to show most of the station's sides. :)

A comparison between the top of Juan's and mine.

 

2 key things, One mine is rendered in 2010, and his was in 1996-7 so the quality of his render is a margin of error for my end result.

 

Also, the thing about his is that the lights on the 8 panels are more inside the panel, while mine hang on the edge. Other than that, all is same.

Gotta say I like yours better so far. Mostly just because it is brighter and more easily noticed. Juans just blends in so much I doubt anyone even notices it as a special tile or anything. Though maybe that is just from many many years of seeing it.

I feel like i severely lack on the texturing of my work.

 

 

I mean I did the warbird and I loved the model, but damn the textured failed badly.

 

Gona make and say this deal right here and now: if you want me to model all 8 ships, i need someone to do textures. if i had someone, i would no doubtingly do so.

 

 

 

On-topic: Thanks for the compliments. I realized between the two models, (the one in-game, and the one on the video) from the light amounds on the pieces of the ship, Juan did a extension of the core of the station. I had to do my own fixtures to satisfy BOTH references. Other than that, it's all good.

Your animation only has 9 unique frames instead of 10. It'll look bad in-game since it'll stick once per cycle. Same problem as your signature GIF.

Oh damnit.. sorry... 45 is 360 devided by 8... minus 4.5 (for ten frames) is 40.5... isnt that right?
