op2rules Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 (edited) What about a smoke field, that lasts only a few seconds but you can't see anything under it? Could be neat for some rush tactics etc Or imagine you have a small one that you can use in center or something, and you place it and then warp away, its like sneaky ninja smoke tactics! Swift Warrior Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 I say bring back flashbang, its much more fun to mess around with Quote

Weebles Wobble Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 There's already too much field spamming, get skill. Quote

Corey Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 weeples weep more Welcome to ideas from 2007 thread whats flashbang? EDIT: cant see under meaning like an opaque over ship brick?Just ignore weeps, he likes to troll on forum with his bold font. He doesn't have much skill to begin with. Hes pretty good at team killing though. Quote
op2rules Posted September 29, 2010 Author Report Posted September 29, 2010 Mm I agree with corey but I'd kindly ask you keep backtalk out of my topics as much as possible, I want my topics (threads) to reflect the title. Yes I am also well aware the idea has probably been spoken of, but I'm not going to search for this idea, maybe find it, and see things that people have to say about it that is almost irrelevant. The players would most likely not even be playing the zone anymore, and even if they were, 3 years is way more than enough time to change your mind. Quote
Cheese Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 id like you to not make new threads for something you can post in another threadid also like you to make dev threads in the dev forum notice how i wasnt an asshole about it before though Quote
P Nut Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) I wouldn't mind seeing a field the size of Chaos Field being a completely black, or smokey, square of death and uncertainty. However, Radar takes away from the element entirely. Edited October 1, 2010 by P Nut Quote
Kilo Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) Amazingly enough you can stick graphics over the radar too.Amazingly enough that is not one of the built-in capabilities of hs_fields Edited October 1, 2010 by Kilo Quote
P Nut Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Amazingly enough you can stick graphics over the radar too.Maybe a Chaff Grenade (or other deployable, could be grouped in fields) that blacks out all enemies' radar for a few seconds? I mean as an entirely separate idea from the Smoke Field. Hmm, wasn't there a problem with these types of items, though? Couldn't these graphics be disabled client-side, or something? Quote
Cheese Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 no, especially since asss hasnt figured out how optional lvz works yet Quote
Dr Brain Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 no, especially since asss hasnt figured out how optional lvz works yetThat bug was closed, last I checked. But even if it wasn't, an optional LVZ for an essential gameplay element is stupid. Quote
Cheese Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) indeed it is so that means optional lvz works now? =Oalso, why didnt it work before you fixed it? . Edited October 2, 2010 by Cheese Quote
Dr Brain Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 Because it was broken? What do you mean? The bug would only show up if the optional lvzs weren't placed last in the list. Quote
Kilo Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 The code attempted to be clever with its loop/counting, and it failed. See the changeset for details. Quote
espo Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 I like the idea of an emitter that jams radar. Quote
