Hello,

 

What is everspace?

 

EverSpace is an upcoming zone which allows players to mine asteroids for ore, freight ore in their cargo bay to refineries to refine into minerals which are freighted to factories to manufacture items with for selling/equipping or trading. During transit these items, and those equipped on the player's ship are subject to piracy by other players. There are NPC's that you can kill to collect common and rare items, we currently have 320 items and have plans for 1500 or more. Players can design and build their own tiles-based bases and defend them with sentry guns. Tiles will have hit points and are destructible so bases can be sieged and destroyed although it is difficult. Depending on the size of ship, ships can equip a variety of (upto 24) items which affect many aspects of game play. Indeed, players can mix and match different items to come up with unique configurations as desired. There are items that make you faster, make you do more damage, make you resist damage more effectively, make you repair faster, make your opponent unable to run away etc. We have plans to allow players to equip up to 8 guns which each fire their own unique bullet which has its own damage amount, speed and energy cost. Players will also enjoy having Shield hit points as well as Armor hit points. Shield tanking and or armor tanking will be a viable strategy for players. Gameplay will span multiple arenas, ?go is disabled so players must travel semi-linearly from arena to arena using 'jumpgates'. The farther you travel from pub, the more difficult NPC's are and the more money you can make. Currently we have 10 arenas and have plans for many more. We also have plans for an in-game graphical user interface which will allow players to visually select and equip/sell/reprocess items that they own. I have attached an alpha version of one such menu. The game should be lots of fun.. Before you criticize the feasibility of any of the affore mentioned features, please take note that we have discussed these features at length and have already devised viable methods for implementing them all. Actually, the only valid criticism of this project so far has been scope. That's why we've elected to pay for development.

EverSpace will revitalize this community, guaranteed.

 

We have a budget for external advertising, plus a very very well planned idea for exploding our population - more on that later...

 

Since we expect to be drawing lots of new players from outside the community into our zone, we also have plans to take those players and spread them out among the community. Specifically, our zone will send a zone wide message similar to the following:

 

"The top 3 players in kills in DSB after 3 hours will be awarded with 10,000 ES credits"

 

This message is only sent to players in the EverSpace zone in an attempt to get them to play other zones. We will offer a similar service to all zones and ask nothing in return.

 

Anyway, just trust me, EverSpace will be epic and it will revitalize this community in a BIG way :D

This should also put some attention on our community and bring some new players to the zone - ModDB is a very large community. Also remember that a significant portion of our community play many zones, so new players for EverSpace means new players for all our zones. Especially considering we've been making agreements to dump them on you anyway :p

Is this going anywhere?

 

As always with Continuum nowadays I'm going with the "I'll believe it when I see it" theme, but it sounds like it could be fun to play with a dozen people - as long as you don't add too much scope too early. It's the sort of idea you could kill by giving the early adopters too much to do and making it into basically a single player where you see someone else every 100 hours.

well at first i tried [ yt ] but it didn't work so i tried [ video ] but that didn't work then i tried [ youtube ] but that didn't work then i tried [ media ] but that messed it all up and i kept trying to fix it but it wasnt working

 

where is the damn button for posting videos -_-
