noldec Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 So with the new center, someone entered and said:omg ice fieldAnd that brought me on my idea of a new field. The basic idea is, a field that gives the nme an engine shut-down.Ofc it need to be worked out so it wouldnt be to OP.And I already have a name for it: Ice Field Quote
Kilo Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 Welcome to ideas from 2007 thread Quote
Cheese Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 #1:what happens on id tunnel exit #2:how will they exit field with no engines Quote
Kilo Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 the field would go away eventually like any other. also existing momentum.!! Quote
»Xog Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 the field would go away eventually like any other. also existing momentum.!! Actually with a graphic backdrop, a field called "Ice Field" would be pretty suiting, granted your ship will look as if it were sliding across a sheet of ice uncontrollably in one direction. Quote

Actually with a graphic backdrop, a field called "Ice Field" would be pretty suiting, granted your ship will look as if it were sliding across a sheet of ice uncontrollably in one direction. And it'd keep on sliding even after it went out the other side, destroying the illusion... Quote
Kilo Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Not if engine shutdown time was really low and it spammed them with prizes!! Quote
»Xog Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 (edited) and not if the module only shuts the engines down of those on all freqs other than the one who layed it and then prized them their engines again once they werent in the field Edited September 26, 2010 by Xog Quote
Sketter Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Instead of engine shutdown, why not do the name some justice and anyone gets frozen in place, kinda how when you attach to some1 that isn't a lanc, but not to be over powering, (or depending on the size) be periodically. Quote
espo Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 instead of a field you could just have a special rep that freezes the enemy. kind of like in the Freeze event that red star used to have. Quote
Patman1 Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 how about this: you have 2 seconds to get out of the field, or your engines shutdown (this meaning if you are smart you could afterburner your way through), however, after those 2 seconds, your engines shutdown. If you still manage to get out of the field (with momentum and people repping and what not), your engines will take 2 seconds to restart. Quote
espo Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 It would be easier just to make the special rep. HS doesn't need any "new" fields. Quote
Kilo Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 It would be easier just to make the special rep.No it wouldn't. Quote
Corey Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 I would be about 100x easier to make the field then this "Special rep" you speak of. Quote
espo Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 (edited) This "special rep" has existed long before fields were developed. Explain to me why it would be harder. Is it because rep settings would affect all reps? Is there no way to easily make a seperate rep with different settings? I'm no expert on HS settings so school me. Kilo Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 (edited) You figured it out in your post. Repel setting controls all repels, the weapon packet does not send anything except the fact that it is a repel.Adding an attack field is pretty easy if you don't care about a new LVZ graphic for it Edited October 10, 2010 by Kilo Quote
BZAP Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 On the topic of ice fields...I'd like to see a "snag" bomb that engine-shutdowns upon impact. It'd be a neat concept for a nonprox, signature, weasel-specific bomb. Quote
BZAP Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 I thought it'd fit the theme of shutting down the enemyweasel uses EMP Quote
