»Xog Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Dr Brain recently announced that he removed the flagging-only frequencies (=90, =91) from the zone Hyperspace. He also posted up the stats from the top 100 exp players. Discussion on this subject can be found HERE. Quote
Dr Brain Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 Flagging frequencies still exist. The stats are anonymous. Quote
»Xog Posted September 21, 2010 Author Report Posted September 21, 2010 what do u mean? I'm a little confused. http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/1900/brainc.png Although I think I should have worded it as "Pure-Flagging Freqs Disabled" Quote
Dr Brain Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 You can't change to those freqs using the '='. Why are you posting "news" for a zone you don't play? Quote
»Purge Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 He disabled switching to those freqs to avoid hopping and balancing issues. Nothing spectacular with the top 100 either as it serves as more of a reference than something to be proud about since it is anonymous. Once again, you continue to bear the most constructive poster title. Quote
»Xog Posted September 21, 2010 Author Report Posted September 21, 2010 I already know all this, you're just telling me things I already understand.. what was the point in saying "flagging freqs still exist" ? i know that, i just worded the post wrong. I also know the stats are anonymous. I looked at them. I'm not blind. Why are you repeating it to me as if I didn't know? And to answer your snotty "why are you posting news for a zone you don't play?" question, it's because that's what I do, I post news. It doesn't matter what zone it's for. It just so happens that all the news I hear from are from Trench Wars so I post more about that zone. If I had contacts from other zones like EG, Chaos etc. I'll gladly post about it on SSGN's news- but I have a staff member from TW e-mailing me at the beginning of every week with the weekend events. I tried getting in contact with other zone staff but nobody even wanted to be part of this. Why you jerks turning over the asshole leaf again? Quote
Dr Brain Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 I think you don't understand what it is that I changed, or you wouldn't have said that. Flagging frequencies still exist. Pure flagging frequencies still exist, and are the only type of flagging frequency. In no way were the flagging frequencies altered. Only the commands to switch from one purely flagging frequency to another purely flagging frequency were disabled. Have I belabored the point enough? I'm not trying to be mean, but it's hard not to when you get combative and are clearly missing the point. Quote
»Xog Posted September 21, 2010 Author Report Posted September 21, 2010 I've not missed the point at all Dr Brain, if you read the first line in the original post I specify "THE FLAGGING-ONLY FREQUENCIES (FREQ =90, =91)" and like I said in the other post, I didn't word it correctly meaning I didn't specify "the flagging frequencies, and the only frequencies, are going to be =0 and =1" Quote
Dr Brain Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 "the flagging frequencies, and the only frequencies, are going to be =0 and =1" This is not true. How can I explain this to you? Are you reading what I'm saying, or just assuming you know what's going on? Quote
Samapico Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 You did miss the point Xog... The freqs exist, and are still freqs 90 and 91. The thing is, you can't manually change freq by typing =90 or =91 anymore. But you still can get on a flagging frequency, like you always did, by typing ?flag. If you still don't think you should edit your first post because it's very different than this explanation, this news item will just be removed...I don't mean to sound threatening, but a news item that is misleading and only has comments that argue about it is not worthy Quote
Cheese Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) when the owner of the zone that you dont even play is telling you youre wrong, why wont you just acknowledge that you messed up? . Edited September 22, 2010 by Cheese Quote

Thank you. When Dr. Brain said "I disabled =90 and =91" I thought he literally meant he disabled the frequencies =90 and =91, which is completely understandable to misinterpret. I'm very used to people saying "come to freq =123 (etc)" when they refer to freqs. And Cheese, I was continuing to argue with him because I thought there was a misunderstanding between us, which there was, but it wasn't the misunderstanding I was thinking of. PoLiX, thanks for removing it from news And sorry Brain, the way you worded what you said just confused me apparently and I thought I wasn't explaining myself correctly to you which is why I was arguing. Dr Brain Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 See, this makes more sense and is understandable by someone who doesn't play hyperspace. My original post was written in the Hyperspace Zone Development forum. It wasn't meant to be read by someone who doesn't play Hyperspace, much less turned into a news item. And before you ask, I'm not about to change the way I write posts in the *HS* forum to appeal to a broader audience. Quote
»Xog Posted September 22, 2010 Author Report Posted September 22, 2010 I clicked on one of the links on the top right where it shows recent posts, I didn't go to the HS forum specifically. And I'm not asking you to change the way you write posts, Brain. It was easily and understandably confused with a different meaning by reading it in a different way. If you're just going to sit here and continue to argue with me instead of accepting my apology then I'm just not going to continue in this conversation. Quote
