Hey there,

I recently changed from Sky Broadband 20mb to Virgin Media Broadband 50mb, but for some reason the ping has now increased from a constant low 40-80, to 100-150ish, ingame I keep getting speced for S2C/WPL, and also i'm apparently having quite a bit of packet loss as seen here:

Any idea to what may be the problem, and ideas on how to solve it? I use Zone Alarm btw and its got everything allowed for the game.

For one, you should buy a router and ditch Zone Alarm entirely; my opinion. (EDIT: And stay away from cheap routers under $40 if possible.)

All of those have pretty bad loss. You should have something like, 0ish, for Loss%.

I used to use virgin broadband

A couple of things to bear in mind. Virgin uses CABLE. Sky uses ADSL. Cable has a higher latency.

If you're in the UK a ping of around 90-120 is pretty average and normal.

I recommend you uninstall Zone Alarm, you don't need it as the Virgin Broadband Cable box is a router as a built in firewall so its pointless, and it adds unnecessary lag.

There have been some problems with the 50MB Virgin package by the looks of it...

Depending on where you are in the UK should also be considered when choosing virgin, as they often don't roll out fiber optic to all houses (which kinda makes it not worth the while as the latency will be much higher)... Also as Cheese said, hopone is a real pain and tbh I'm surprised you never had the same problems with sky. If I were getting 40-50ms with sky, I probably wouldn't have bothered leaving them. Check if they have a 28-day no squabble disconnection, and perhaps move back.
