Why did I just get banned?

Okay, so there was about 6 people playing in the zone

 

i was basing

 

and then i get disconnected to find I am banned from this zone for 3 days.

 

can someone explain to me what happened? I had no received any messages from any mods or whatever. I just was dc'd and when I attempted to relogging, I was banned. If I did something wrong, please inform me. I'm not new to this zone....or this game.

Looking through my chat log it appears you flag traded. I noticed you were online, then shortly after Masaru did an arena message:

I did a flag trade? You mean I got shot and killed by someone who rushed. Do you want to also understand that there was 4 people in the game when this happened. It was 11AM, and the zone was dead.

 

Are you basing everything you did off what someone said rather than what you saw?

 

Try to understand the correct series of events that occurd:

-I was on one team with flags.

-I got killed.

-Due to inactivity on a flagging frequency, I was specced.("?BUY" -- Trying to upgrade to pulse laser on my terrier.)

-I re-enter with "?FLAG

-I'm on the other team.

 

Sorry my death ruined a flag game for 3 other people. The jackpot of less than 2000 per player is a huge expense to this zone. I have almost a million credits, I'd be glad to compensate them for the inconvenience with three-fold the winnings.

 

 

Seriously, this is the worst moderation I've ever encountered.

 

I was flat out banned....no warning, just a disconnected message.

 

I never saw any of the arena message you suggest was sent. Go recheck your logs and ensure it wasn't after I was banned. Even more, if you are going to try to use his arena message as justice for what he did why was I, furthermore, banned. It wasn't a warning.

 

 

 

 

Me, as an educated person with a lot of real world experience - this is stupid as fuck.

 

I'm done with this zone.

And the worst part of this all:

 

 

I read a notification from Dr. Brian in how he tried to clean up his staff upon entering this zone.

 

You haven't done shit. Fuck your zone.

 

I've given you ample justifications even for the argument of me "allegedly" flag trading to show your moderators reasoning unfair.

 

 

Imagine finding out you got rejected from community college, then finding out that your alcoholic father got arrested for domestic abuse, you lost all your life savings in a Ponzi scheme, and all of this happens to you while you're on the space shuttle "Challenger". This is a good sentence describing this zone and it's bad moderation.

Edit: I double posted and, I don't know how to use these forums. I had to google search for these forums to refute my case. I only play this zone again because I was on Brickwarp in 2007. That's why I made a forum account

 

 

 

 

 

 

TLDR;

 

I was banned for 3 days for dying with 4 flags in a 6 person basing game. Getting specced for inactivity due to timer. Re-entering flag game and getting on the opposing team.

i was banned because of what someone "said" to another moderator. If you fail to see the incompetence in that, you ought to leave this thread. This is not "my zone of preference". It's just nice to play here occasionally.

 

I don't know anything about this zone. I've never seen Dr. Brian online in his zone. I was also randomly banned. I had no way of knowing who to contact. This zone doesn't have it's own website or any way of letting it's new community know what's going on.

 

I had to google search and refind a site I haven't been on in 3 years.

 

I am totally fine with the zones problems, but also know that it's same problems your zone experiences such as these which hinders the further production.

I wouldnt worry about it too much, no one has ever won a fight against the staff, and no one ever will. Even if what you are saying is true, once you get banned, there is nothing you can do. Ive been banned for the stupidest reason, but i realized that it was easier to just wait out the ban then to complain. But its not the staffs fault either, imagine if you were in their position. (someone dies with 4 flags, then is put on to the other freq along with people whining about how some dude flag tradded.) They just cant take the chance of letting something like that slide, because everyone will be all over it. You are lucky that you only have a 3 day ban and you are lucky it was masa at the time. Other mods would have probly just perma banned with no exceptions. Masa is a good guy.

If you think you have a valid reason to contest your ban, you're certainly doing it wrong... Shitting on all the staff and raging won't get you anywhere. If what you say is true, the mod's interpretation of what happened definitely was wrong, but don't go apeshit because of this. Send a PM to Dr Brain on these forums or something... But it's just 3 days, so it might take just as long.

Yeah, unfortunately, the one failing point of this zone has been its staff. The staff above Rareitanium is competent, but they apparently don't have a lot of time to dedicate to the zone. As a result, the moderation team is a circus full of sad clowns with little to no oversight. You learn to mostly ignore them after a while, but then they do stuff like this that gets on your nerves from time to time. Nobody said the zone was perfect.
