Whole New HyperSpace Layout

Here you go, this is what Got Bounty? made a while ago, well he just did the layout, I regioned it, and put in some bases. It took a while to region, i was suprised.

I removed the ht from the screenie, cause it would have been much more to edit, if you look at the lvl, they are there -.-

Thanks, this map was something i really wanted to do for a while, i just want to see some changes for the better is HS, either if its a new layout, or just some new bases. Thats how EG has stayed so popular all these years, constant change, and the pop likes that.

Center looks great... right now it really needs a change, and I like your new layout. I like b6 and I think it'd be cool to see some old bases (ice base, old b1, some really old bases even) make a comeback. I hope staff considers putting your map to use

Awesome map but you probably just wasted countless hours of your life. Brain won't change the map layout as many people have suggested this to him. All you can do is contribute bases.

Thanks Sass, i was trying to contact Arnk earlier, but i always get no response. I just want to see some of my work implemented into HyperSpace. I don't care if its this map, or the old one with all my bases i put into it. I even regioned them all. I mean, all the work is basically there. Edited August 27, 2010 by Corey

And that's where you're wrong. Putting a map like this into Hyperspace would probably take 3-4 hours of my undivided attention. I'd have to check your regioning, I'd have to update the transwarp settings, update the jump gate settings and LVZ, I'd have to redo the sector flag map (which I can't personally do), upload the map, recycle the zone, deal with the two or three whiners that "lost" money when the zone was recycled, correct the obligatory map bug that destroys basing, upload again, recycle again.

 

Then, once all that's done, over the next two or three days I'll get complaints that the old bases were better and the new bases are crap.

 

Yes, I'd like to put new maps into the zone, but it takes a ton of time and effort. That's why no map work has been done in forever.

Why not give sysop powers to someone who would do all that for you? If they charge you a minimal rate, say $70 per hour not to exceed say $14,000 you can probably get all this done by someone capable while you relax and enjoy the results! With this plan you will have the most abundant, awesome (but not yet arnk free), potty-mouthless zone in all of SS! About 10 people would be made happier!

dr brain, even though you are the only person that does anything for hyperspace, it doesnt have to be that way.

the only hard part is finding people that arent douchebags that will actually do something...

 

 

 

also, wouldnt you agree that even though 5 hours of work for you may be a lot, but it would be worth it, because the map hasnt been updated for 2 years, and the previous map was 2 years before that, and that 50 players would be happier for 2-3 years because you spent 5 hours on it, despite no new content being added to hyperspace for 2 resets?

I would love to purge, but to be honest, i have no idea how to, and im not smart enough, i just hope some of my content gets used somewhere. Give him the transwarp and gate settings to tweak and then upload to test zone before putting it live. He can also do any LVZ work.

Rare never had anything to do with this stuff, anyway. Really all of this stuff has been done by Doc, though various maps within the same template have been done by other people. What I'm saying is that these things Doc is not willing to commit time to are at least things he can commit some fraction of the time explaining to someone else.
