PS3 vs. xbox 360

I am stuck on what to buy; the new xbox or the 120gb ps3 (both 299)

 

Here is my current stance:

 

PS3

Free internet play

No RROD

 

xbox

All my friends have it

 

What are your opinions?

Ok it's like this. F*CK Microsh*t and paying to play online. Don't give them any more money. Then again, sony is the devil. But the devil has a nice deal.

It's really nice not to have to pay to play a game online that you already bought. Plus all the good games are made for both systems anyway. Playstation is a lot better about not breaking in my experience too. I have known a guy to break his, but that's because he NEVER turned it off. He also went through about 5 360's, so only 1 ps3 breaking is significantly better.

Look up which one has the most games you like. I liked the most games on PS3, so that's what I got.

PS3 is gonna be leading on awesomeness in games pretty soon. PS3 never breaks, free online gaming, you can download ps1 and ps2 classics on PSN. More people play online on 360, but fuck them, you wont be playing online ALL the time. Think of how many games you are going to be buying are gonna be online gaming, then think of the cost, and think of how much you will be playing online. Its a bit more people + paying vs a bit less people + free.

 

Also, ps3 has better graphics and I've never heard of a ps3 breaking.

I prefer a PS3 instead of the XBOX, I've played both before. PS3 has better graphics and the controller is better imo.

The PS3's Blu-ray drive has flaws. So if you only play games, and rarely watch blu-ray movies you'll be fine.

 

Buddy of mine has gone through 5 PS3s already, and another is on his 2nd and its having some issues.

 

Haven't looked into how common it is, but seeing as 2 people are having the same issue, possibly something common.

 

 

360 I have yet to have a RROD, but a few friends have. And even the hell they've gone through, they still get XBOX over PS3. So its just by your personal choice.

 

Its like the old Nintendo vs Sega battle. All preference.

MM. Now searching on the internet seems the Blu-ray issue is about as common as the RROD. Atleast the RROD you can fix by buying a fan accessorie to pull more heat out of the xbox, or just keep it on top of something and clean of dust. That and they did finally fix it with the new version.

 

Seems Sony has acknowledged the flaw in the PS3 through support tickets, but can't find anything publicly acknowledging the issue. Maybe someone else might run into one.

 

So seems even though XBOX has its flaws, so does PS3. Sucks, MAG does look like an awesome game.

I went with the new xbox 360 "slim". Coincidentally, my brother just got a ps3 so I will be comparing them these next few days just to see which one is actually best.

Not true, my bro is on his 3rd, it's not as bad as the RROD though.

 

 

Personally I would go with the 360. Most games these days are on all consoles anyway. The fact that your friends have the 360 will make the difference. Yes you have to pay to play online (which isn't much) it's definatly worth it. Playing online on the Playstation isn't good at all. I kept ending up in laggy games. I couldn't have a conversation with more than 1 person at a time(not sure if this has been fixed?) problems match making and various other problems that the xbox doesn't have. My PS3 doesn't get turned on at all
