Well, I've been asking around and it seems this problem occurs for most people who use windows Vista, so I guess its a compatibility issue. What it is, everytime you press the play button to play SS, the continuum client crashes for like 30 seconds, if you click on the window in this time it says "Not Responding" but after the 30 seconds, no matter what, it starts.

I want that to stop happening. IDK how >.<

Also the resolution problem in the topic by Kryp on EG forum that I bumped, that seems to be just for Vista users. Link Here - http://www.extreme-games.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=19476

Tried running in compatibility mode - same thing happens.

Tried Turning off Anti Virus - Same thing happens.

It has happened since I got the comp over a year ago. Just really annoying >.<

Any help would be appreciated

See, unless I'm misreading this, I don't have that problem (I'm running Vista too). My problem is that 85% of the time it seems like the zone gets only halfway loaded - I get the list of players, but no list of arenas, and no data of what's happening in the arena. Then five-eight seconds later, I get the "no data" message.

Well, I'm far from a guru on this, so don't give up if I can't help you.

Johnson, my only guess is turning off User Account Control and/or Running Continuum as an Administrator.

Destroyer, I have no idea, but it seems to me to be some sort of internet problem rather than an OS problem.

Firstly, Continuum isn't crashing, it's stalling while it's trying to establish a connection. This can take quite some time, up to 45 seconds for some users. Your system is just trying to be cautious with what it's allowing Continuum to execute, and Continuum is trying to verify that nothing is attempting to manipulate it, which can cause the connection and the loading of the game engine to be delayed.

If it's subsequently disconnecting you after connecting and loading the zone's main arena, then that's a different issue. For this, you need to verify that other programs, scanners, firewalls, other games, and so on aren't affecting Continuum in any way. You might also be spiking right after loading the zone, which could cause your connection to drop completely. I suggest playing around with Continuum's options and Advanced Settings to see if there are things you can enable or disable. Try Advanced Options > Software Emulation, for instance (example image here).

If it's a resolution problem, see if this can help: http://forums.ssgn.net/index.php?showtopic=13180&st=0&p=224995entry224995

Run it in Safe Mode with Networking so we can eliminate a network issue. More than likely, you have a firewall or anti-virus program blocking it, even if it is disabled.
