I think the reason Valve did this was to showcase Source engine and show its capabilities. I might be wrong on some assumptions here, but maybe Source engine could possibly work for Subspace? Heh, I don't know. And I don't know if access to the Source engine is free or not either. D:

You can mod for free on source, if you have a source game. But you gotta license it for a stand alone game. Also I played this alien swarm game when it was a mod for UT:2k4 it was pretty sweet. Downloading now!

This game uses an iteration of the Source engine somewhere between L4D2 and Portal 2, and all the game code is available. They want it to be some kind of example/reference for developers on the latest Source versions.

Just completed the campaign with 2 other guys... Pretty fun

No idea what the problem is but it just hangs on the load screen for me :/

The first time it went to the pre-mission screen, where you choose your character, it froze for like 2 minutes for me... but it ended up loading fine, and worked correctly afterwards.

Yep, that's where it froze for me. I guess I'll let it sit for a while and see if it starts.

You can play the game in first person mode if you'd to do that over isometric mode.
