I think this may be the 1st game I have been excited for in a long time. Starcraft was the 1st computer game I ever bought and one of my favorite games ever. I normally hate those style of games, but for some reason Starcraft just had the right style... I dunno. Something about it just made it fun.

Can't wait for the new one... mhmm.

A little bit late Audy, if playing a 10(?) year old space ship game doesn't make us geeks I am not sure what does.

Her and I went out to breakfast yesterday. We finish breakfast and she's paying, I go for a smoke. She comes outside when our ride shows up and I'm inside EB Games. She says "What the hell you doing?" I say, "Buying StarCraft II babe." She goes, "Geek." And waits in line with me as I purchase it. $$

I bought this game and honestly have some mixed feelings. The single player campaign was good, but cuts off after the Terran campaign at which point the extortionists promise a zerg and protoss campaign in upcoming expansion packs. It is clear by the story that they have a trilogy planned, but atleast the first chapter did not end on a cliffhanger.

The multiplayer has been markedly improve by Blizzard's experience with WOW. They have a lot of newbie protection features in place that will help you learn the game away from the pros that will cream you. This works great for me because my experience with multiplayer in Starcraft 1 lasted about 10 minutes before I gave up on it.

However, the strange thing is a lot of the units in single player, including some which were in the first Starcraft, such as vulchers and goliaths, do not appear to be available in multiplayer. This seems to make protoss overpowered verses terrans because terrans can't build the units which counter some of the protoss units.

It's a good time to build one now. Kind of in-between technology generations so everything is cheap right now. You could make a nice Phenom II X6 system for like 700-1000 dollars.

Wow, this topic is still going on. I've uninstalled that game months ago.

I was in Platinum league. Won some, lost some. Didn't make it very high up, but this was on *Platinum League* mind you. 8) Still, I got tired of it because between two good players, the winner is always the one who can micromanage the most, and I'm too old. My reflexes aren't as good at a 15 yr old's.

Polix, a little piece of hardware I like to swear by is called a ViDock 2. Its a device that connects to your express card port, and mounts video cards you would normally put on a desktop. I use it on a relatively mediocre laptop. It does what it promises, albeit drivers aren't really designed for that configuration.
