»Purge Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Not much of a performance improvement on my end. Hopefully the final product will be better. Quote
L.C. Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Firefox would be soo much better if they implemented functions to lock down parts of the browser and for its configuration to be remote controllable/managed by a Class C IP address. This would work very well in a corporate/business environment, with these plugins (with the exception of NoScript) Quote

»Lynx Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 I can't stand firefox as a permanent browser, I only use it for noScript Quote

JoWie Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 (edited) Beyond interface changes, some stuff that I find interesting (not all of them are in the first beta): SCP (HTTP header which tells from what domains you may load specific content (images, script, flash, etc) to prevent XSS)Account Manager (better integration with pages and the password manger, page delivers own rules)A lot of performance optimizations in the javascript engine, not all of them in beta 1CSS3 TransitionsCSS3 -moz-any (i wish this was supported a lot sooner, would have saved me a ton of code) WebGL(OpenGL)WebM video formatDirect2D for windows vista etcWebSocketsHTML 5 formsHTML 5 SVG & MathMLlazy frame construction (changes to the DOM are delayed until they are actually needed, major speed improvement in my own applications)CSS3 calc: width: calc(50% + 5px);-moz-image-rect, great for having all your interface components in one image.File API url (unique identifier to preview images that are about to upload)ForceTLS (noscript already had it) I personally noticed a huge performance increase in beta 1 in our very heavy web application. »Xog Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 @Xog Haha you suck. Go clean your computer. =P It's not my computer, it's the firm's computer. And the reason I was getting that message is because our mail server was hacked within the past month and was used to send massive spam. Quote
L.C. Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 CSS3 calc: width: calc(50% + 5px);Whoa. This will be full of win. Quote
Dav Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 does anyone else find it renders pages slightly slower then 3.6? Quote
»Purge Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Actually, I retract my last statement. It seems to have improved automagically somehow. Quote
