Moving to ASSS?

I just started trying to do things in ASSS (A Small Subspace Server, some open-source alternative to subgame, for those who don't know), and I was thinking about switching 17th Parallel to it... Not that I never thought about it before, but now I see it as possible, not too hard, and I can think of a couple advantages.

 

However, doing so would probably require changing host, which may be an issue for us (Mike would know more than me). I'm currently locked out of the zone for some reason, so I wouldn't mind that anyway And I heard MTN is also cursed, so basically the zone is in anarchy right now, with Delic probably being the active player with the most powers with access to the zone lol.

Just obviously make sure you get a full backup of everything, and put pub on oldmap2 and settings while you're at it.

As for ASSS, there's no doubt that we should do it if it's not too inconvenient

host-wise (as you said, Mike would know), but we should time the switch with an

overall 17th comeback attempt imo =)

I also wouldn't be opposed to a map that dynamically sizes to the number of players in the arena, but it has to be done right — the way PBZ does it, for example, is crap, mostly I'd say because the map versions they use are crap.

With us unable to even login, getting backups would be difficult. I'll try to get the problem resolved though.
