Currently the Arcade scripts are being upgraded/updated for IPB 3.1 and there has been talks of a RPG being created again. Also going to install the Gallery script again. Should be entertaining and will be focused SS wide. Suggest away. You use these forums, what would you like to see? They just updated IPB with a new "skin upgrade" feature that skinners will be able to take advantage of from here on out. Emoticons, too. I miss the sliding login screen as well. And perhaps a feature for logging in with at least our Facebook account if linking our forum account with our Facebook account is possible? I'm just getting scanty ideas from the IPS forum, really.

★ Purge Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 Thought this should be pinned. Is it also possible to add a merit system? For example, users thanking other users for helpful posts and stuff. It would probably be less abused if you were to only allow the merit system in the Technical Support and Development forums. Perhaps also displaying a list of "Most Helpful Posters" at the right would promote more help to go around. And perhaps making the forums banner the same as the SSGN banner -- except with an added "Forums" text somewhere -- would make more people realize there's another site. Then the "Home" tab would make more sense to click on.

I suggest to keep things simple. Going beyond simplicity might make it go unnoticed.

Or, as a nice compromise, the "helpful post" feature can be set to only work in Technical Support and Development forums while the "I agree" can be used in all other forums. But that's assuming this type of system will even work in IPB...

Give it channels like #lobby, #trenchwars, #request, etc. Then install things like IBIRC/WebIRC etc on the forums. I really think this would boost the community.
