Trained Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Im in my zone, every since we got on the new port, everytime I press Esc + C it says, File being sent: Server.cfg and File recieved: Server.cfg and the lil box dosnt come up. At first I thought it was just in my zone, but I have a sub in an another zone and it doesnt work there either. It has nothing to do with template.sss or with sysop login (at least in my case). I've also reinstalled cont. and tried it on .38 and on .39... Still no worky : .I'm glad to see that someone else is having this problem, though. Maybe we should post something in bug reports...

shardz Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Ok, I figured out my problem. This may apply to you also, Trained. I had backed up my settings onto a cd and then put them back in my cont. folder. Problem was when it backed it up it changed the file permissions to read only. So maybe go to the settings files youre trying to change and right click, go to properties and change it to archive instead of read only. Hope it helps cuz it drove me nutts for like a month.

Shardz, couldnt be that, cause it wont work for the other sysops neither, just waiting on LF to get on. nosut4321 Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 i had the same problem in a zone i was toying with for a bit and found that when i tryed id get the same go -*BAD WORD*- thing it bugged the -*BAD WORD*- out of me so i shut the zone down and opend it later and it worked fine (i also found that the server.cfg was being sent 2 my cont folder like if u were 2 type *getfile server.cfg[just a note]) withouth the box poping up made me mad but u can still edi tthe settings it just takes longer by opening server.cfg in notepad so try recycling trhe zone maybe that will help your case but im not sure if not try what the others said

That is your problem.Question: when have you actually hosted any zones or worked on subgames, that you will know whats wrong?.. ..and yeah.. the problem lies in ur cfg file, i had the same problem i deleted the cfg file and svs popped back in and it worked so yeah get a cfg checker and check it..
