Wormhole-Surfer Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 I just noticed today that subspacedownloads.com is down. How long has it been like this? Is this only temporary? It would be a shame if it's down permanently because it's a great resource. Feel free to remove this thread if/when it goes back up. Quote
»Blocks Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 It's been down for a few weeks now, I think. Testtube hasn't had any motivation to get either it or the Metal Gear CTF forums back up. Quote

Hakaku Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 Would be better if we didn't have to download the entire repository L.C. Quote
whalz Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 so from what i can gather, the files from ssdl are gettable, but the website is donefor Quote
L.C. Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 (edited) so from what i can gather, the files from ssdl are gettable, but the website is doneforI don't know how you can do that unless (1) your ISPs DNS cache is horrible, (2) you are using the static IP address of the server SSDL is stored on.. because OpenDNS tells me the nameservers of subspacedownloads.com are failing. =P (In other words, the nameservers either don't exist or are down, and it's a requirement to be able to use a domain TLD.) IntoDNS confirms it as well: http://www.intodns.com/subspacedownloads.com Or I don't know what I'm talking about. Edited May 31, 2010 by L.C. Quote
»D1st0rt Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 Good thing a couple of people downloaded the whole site a while ago Quote
»Maverick Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 (2) you are using the static IP address of the server SSDL is stored on..So... anybody has the IP address of SSDownloads's server? If we have that then (theoretically) all you need to is add that IP to the Windows's hosts file with 'subspacedownloads.com' and it should work again. However, given that the nameservers are gone, the server serving the website is probably gone too. Quote
Testtube Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Its not done for it will be up in a couple of days hopefully Quote

Trained Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 (edited) Even if it is coming back up, I still support the fact that the people who did DL the files did do it, just for reasons like this And to think they caught a bunch of hell for it.. Edited June 6, 2010 by Trained Quote
»Maverick Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Just noticed it's back up. If Testtube ever reads this, thanks Edited June 24, 2010 by Maverick Quote

Yupa Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Torrent time. Testtube even when you get it all back up, it would save you cashola to move to torrents. It's not really all that much data and legally not a big deal to host or seed, so. Quote
SeVeR Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 So I was wondering if there is a download site anywhere? I want to download the old subspace 1.35 because it allows me to test maps in offline mode. I don't know if there's a better or quicker way to do what I want to do, but surely there is a subspace 1.35 download somewhere? All these CNET and other downloads are actually continuum. Quote

SeVeR Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 So I need to download the whole of SSDL (2.5 gb) just to get one file? Any idea which of those 5 massive downloads has the one file I want in it? Quote
