One of my friends was looking at those headphones. Then he listened to my Creative Fata1ity MKII Headset compared to the Beatz headphones he listened to at Walmart and..well.. he decided to go the cheaper route claiming "yours sound so much better". You're paying for a name there.

To be honest I don't give a damn about sound quality of my headphones, cause I use them when listening to music downtown or in the subway, where you hear a whole lot of noise around anyway. And I wouldn't feel comfortable having headphones that completely block that sound either... Gotta be aware of your surroundings http://www.ssforum.net/public/style_emoticons/default/blum.gif

beats by dre is all from monster anyways, and monster is by no means a company that sells for quality for the price. Sennheiser makes way better headphones. Noise canceling may be an issue but whenever I see people with beats, most audiophiles will auto assume you're just another kid that bought it for the brand.

I've been through a lot of headphones (mostly used for gaming) and these (Bose Around Ear Headphones) are by far the most comfortable I've ever owned. I could easily where them for 5 hours straight. They cost about $125 though. The only downside is they're a bit fragile. Mine broke after about 3 years.

Now I'm using the Logitech G35 headset which is fairly comfortable but heavier. And the Dolby Surround is really nice on a lot of the newer games that support it.

(I know this is almost a necrobump, but you guys are doing it wrong...)

If you want good sound, you guys are looking in the wrong areas. Studio/DJ equipment is the way to go.

Want to know about what kind of sound you're going to get? Frequency response and output level are the easiest specs to make sense of. In a nutshell, these things are a portable night club.

I like my Shure EC3's. They don't make that line any more but you can still find them used. Too bad I only can use them sparingly cause they hurt my ears, they sound amazing. Edited by LiDDiS
