Asymmetrical lag?

Lag noob here, I'm wondering how everything can look fine on my screen (smooth, no jumps at all) while I look jumpy to others? Is it my poor upload speed in comparison to my down? (40mb down vs .7mb up)

 

Or is the culprit the fact that when I do a trace I get 75-80% loss on the hopone servers?
