Paxil Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 Have you ever noticed when you lay mines, most of the time in a base, they tend to be repeled into you or your allies, which teamkills them of course, and hurts you. Just as a suggestion to solve this problem, couldn't the Repel Speed be decreased a good bit, and the Repel Time increased a bit. This could help you escape with repeling still and also prevent most teamkills when the enemy repels your mines. I'm not saying do this, but just a thought I should post. Give your feedbacks. -Pax WoW | ToS
DaKillaRoach Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 Sounds good idea, but you will also notice people using repel to send people into groups of mines and unless its a strong repel it wont work http://server5.uploadit.org/files/BlackEvil-Roach4.jpg~ ~ ~ ~ ~Apple PieYou get to suck titties in tw? Guest Toarn Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 yes, that is what i do outside bases, it works wonders.. rep speed would just give them more time to dodge.. not cool
epox Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 Don't hang around large piles of mines and/or make a macro warning fellow defenders.
Guest Toarn Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 i feel like i shouldn't be giving this away, but here goes... when your a terrier, in the base, and there are enemy coming from.. say.. north.. go outside the goal room, but lay the mines on the south side, then go back inside the goal room and go to the north side.. when the enemy comes from the north, start shooting bombs off the entrance where the door is.. thinking they are smart.. they will go to the south side and bomb you from there.. giving you a chance to rep them into the mine field.. im not boasting or anything but i got 6 guys once doing it.. it was dern perty.
madhaha Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 This should not be changed. Your tactics just need reworking, thats all. Minelaying is a devious art. DoCk>> it's shaped like a phallus and i live on a wart on its side Hyrulian> biscuitHyrulian> where in Uk u fromB i s c u i t> spain
Cid Firefist Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 I like how repelling mines can teamkill. Nothing I like more than attacking a base with 5 or 6 defenders at the door and killing them all with their own mines. -Apple Pie
SeVeR Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 For once madhaha is right. The easier this zone becomes the less skill it takes and the less interested players who have been here more than a week become.
Aileron Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Some of you talk about using reps with mines as if it is a new idea. I have a few additions. Try adding a portal into your rep/mine trap. If you can predict where your enemy will be you can port in on them to attack by suprise. Also, the repping people into mines routine can me modified. You can replace the mines with a burst or area with a lot of shooting going on. Here is the good one though - you can use mines to detect cloaked ships in your base. Put a mine inside each of the 2x2 passes in the north and south wings of the powerball bases. If the mines suddenly detonate or dissappear, you got a cloaker. This generally won't work for Weasels however, because it is always possible (not always successfully done) to squeeze by the mines in a 1x1 ship. Unless ofcourse, the mines have prox. Cid Firefist Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Good way to get rid of mines is to lay a portal and warp to it as soon as you hit them. Take little or no damage. -Apple Pie
ntfx Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 What's wrong with accident teamkills? Why Bother? It's not like you're losing points from it http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/5344/ntfxboredqv8.png
Cid Firefist Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Speaking of teamkills, ?host tkwars -Apple Pie
