Samapico Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 What's up with http://www.sscouncil.com/forum/ ? Looks like an expired domain Quote
»Maverick Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) It's Joseph Medeiros's (Swift's) domain and it expired 11 Apr 2010 (yesterday).I'm sure PoLiX can get ahold of him and ask him to renew it. Edited April 12, 2010 by Maverick Quote
PoLiX Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 texted him said he'd do it this weekend. Quote
Sketter Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 (edited) Uumm, from experience the longer you wait the more difficult it will be to obtain it. When I let sketter.net laps the domain host parked it and even pointed it to the exact same site that ssc is pointed to. When I emailed then requesting it back they wanted $300. According to a whois lookup, they locked it up for another year. I had to wait that year before they finally released it, and I could get it for a standard $8.0 So what's the status? Edit: Just did a whois lookup and its the domain host is the exact same that I used with sketter.net, NameAlerts, they haven't renews it yet themselves. I strongly suggest you deal with this promptly before the same thing they did to me is done to this. Edited April 20, 2010 by Sketter Quote
PoLiX Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Actually, getting a feeling swift isn't going to renew it. Quote
Chambahs Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 nice, im gonna text swift that i love him now that i have his number Quote
»Maverick Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 (edited) Actually, getting a feeling swift isn't going to renew it.What do you think would be the reason of that? Edited April 20, 2010 by Maverick Quote
L.C. Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Correct me if I am wrong, but you really can't lolygag around after a domain has expired. You should renew it now. Quote
»Maverick Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 I think that depends pretty much on the reason why you haven't renewed it before it expired. Quote
»Purge Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 It doesn't seem like such a useful forum to me... Quote
»Lynx Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 May as well just subsidize whatever information there is on sscouncil.com onto subspaceonline, and then make a privileged forum here for what (if anything, really) discussion happens on the forums. The centralisation of information will probably make things a lot easier for anybody in the community looking for information, anyway. Just my 2pence. Quote
Samapico Posted April 20, 2010 Author Report Posted April 20, 2010 To be honest, I forgot why they did a separate forum instead of, as you say, a private section here... Quote
Dr Brain Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 So aceflyer could have a super-secret club, that he could talk about "sensitive information" in. Quote
»gallitin Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 It doesn't seem like such a useful forum to me... yup Quote
»Maverick Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 It was quite useful in the beginning but nobody posted/visited anymore after a while/in the end.I'm not sure what intentions Aceflyer had or exactly what happened that led to his dismissal but he did keep the forum alive and updated. Something that stopped after he left.If it was up to me, I would just renew the domain just for the sake of keeping the domain active and keeping a neutral place for zone owners to dicuss things if it's necessary. Just my 2 cents. Quote
»Swift Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 It's been renewed. And to everyone who was bitching about me not renewing it - I will do as I want when I find it convenient. There is only 1 domain I consider important to upkeep and sscouncil isn't it. The site overall is pretty static and a waste of space when there is nothing 'secret' about it. If we had it centralized here it would be all the better in my opinion I agree. But the site should be up for nostalgic purposes I suppose. Anyway it is renewed for another year....blah blah. Quote
Audry Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 way to waste your moneeeeey http://www.ssforum.net/public/style_emoticons/default/blum.gif Quote

Unless your talking about some comments away from this thread, i would say most of us were speaking out of concern, and not talking about how inefficient you may be. At least that is where i was coming from. I find people very direct when they bitch on these forums and don't beat around the bush. Edited April 21, 2010 by Sketter Quote
»Swift Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 Concern of what? A domain name that we hardly ever use? Does it truly have a function nowadays? These are questions I have and by next year. There is only one domain I have a concern for as I said in my last post. If you or someone else wants to paypal me the money for the domain name for next year then by all means do so. Otherwise I am not going to do it again. I would rather let it expire than pay for the upkeep of the domain name. Paypal - joemedeiros@gmail.com - Joe Quote
»Maverick Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Swift, if you don't want to renew it by 2011-04-11, give me the authorisation code. I'm willing to take it off your hands and want to prevent it getting registered by name traders, allowing it to be used with no strings attached. Quote
