L.C. Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 (edited) Format of version identifier (found in +Maker description): YYYYMMDD PLEASE contribute, make suggestions, etcetera. Also, there is a weird glitch that caught me off-guard (so I don't know why it suddenly started doing it), where blank lows equal 0, blank highs equal -999, and blank lows and highs (together) equal 0 (for both). Therefore, a low or high of 1337 is a temporary replacement, meaning that no limit has been verified, confirmed, found or identified (yet?) for that particular setting. PS. I plan to have three editions of the complete product. Standard edition will have the same ordering that you are used to. Revisited edition will have the Terrier and Weasel order fixed, but will be larger in filesize by approximately 47033 bytes (45.93 KB). Profile edition will order ships one ship category at a time (instead of by setting or function), and will also be larger in filesize by approximately 47033 bytes (45.93 KB). EDIT2: Also, I failed to mention that the complete product will also have ASSS-related settings as well (those will be marked in the description as ASSS-only). EDIT: I realize that the description for Latency:C2SNoDataAction is a tad too long. Version 20100326template.zip Edited March 27, 2010 by L.C. Quote
Samapico Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 Suggestion: +Version setting, identifying the version of the .sss itself Also... I don't understand the 'profile' settings ships thingy... My blood is currently flowing with alcohol, but this is still pretty nebulous... And about 'Revisited', can you effectively reorder terr/weasel without any side-effects? Doesn't that require a modified (i.e.: hex-edited) version of subgame.exe ? If we can have a combination of subgame.exe+template.sss that reorders terr/weasel correctly, I don't see why it shouldn't be suggested as default (i.e.: proposed as standard download option) P.S.: God bless 'backspace' Quote
L.C. Posted March 27, 2010 Author Report Posted March 27, 2010 And about 'Revisited', can you effectively reorder terr/weasel without any side-effects?You must be drunk or something. When you aren't drunk, reread the OP and notice that both versions are about 48 KB larger than Standard version. That means instead of utilizing 'All' in template.sss, it will have the ship names manually. The profile thing means that it will list everything for Warbird, then Javelin, then Spider, etc, rather then Warbird, Javelin, Spider ... Shark, repeat. Because of this, there will be approximately an addition of 48 KB to the filesize of template.sss. So when you do ESC+C, you will be downloading that much more -- it will take at least twice as long to receive the settings file in *.set format. Therefore, for the convenience of potential few, I am willing to go the extra mile and cover support for those who can live with the incorrect order (but with smallest filesize). Quote
»Xog Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 L.C. I'm not sure if this works the same as the banner, but if there's a lot of banner files inyour folder and you esc+b, it'll take about 5-10 seconds, but if it takes that long, you can and will get disconnected from the server.. but since it's an esc+c for the template.sss and it's transferring the file to you from the server, I'm not sure if it'll d/c or not. Something u should check up on Quote

L.C. Posted April 4, 2010 Author Report Posted April 4, 2010 Just a note -- I think that "disconnect" is triggered by an certain delay in the settings (whether it be server.cfg or server.ini -- I don't know). If you move around occasionally while in ESC+C, you will never get disconnected. Quote
»Lynx Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 I'm sure he means while you're downloading the server.cfg file with esc+c, not while editing it. That often disconnects me instantly. Quote
L.C. Posted April 5, 2010 Author Report Posted April 5, 2010 Ah, yes. I still think there is an option to control that -- one of the latency options or the MenuKickoutDelay in server.ini. I remember purposefully setting that value (in server.ini) to a much higher value in one than default of the initial releases of Server Kit because of a certain problem easily triggered. Quote
