There are bots which use the message part to accept multiple commands.

?give 1000 blackjack ?give 1000 coinflip etc

 

So that would not be a simple regexp change.

Yes, and I stated that already. I also stated that these bots are doing it wrong and, thus, the developers deserve to be slapped in the face with more work.

 

Also, I have a real problem with the command message type being used for messages which aren't commands. If this spoofing thing is a big deal (which it's really not), then it'd almost be better to add a new type which is just as transparent and not fuck with the intended usage of the existing types more than we already are.

You may feel it is not the most optimal way but I would not call it "doing it wrong" or a hack. It has some advantages over using a "bank", also has some disadvantages.

Why not just toggle messages at the end all together, or learn to get over idiots who bypass ?ignore (root quit being a pu**y)

because there is a rule on the ssc website that says you can get banned for bypassing ignore. I'd rather not have to deal with reporting every little prick who does that, and just ?ignoregift them as well.

Up the money to 1k minimum, create a limit on how many ?give you can do to a person within a time frame (except for chatnet clients maybe?, so the bots aren't affect but most players will use a continuum client)

 

I wouldn't mind annoying messages if I got 1k every time, plus maybe people wouldn't mess with you that much if you stopped doing whatever it is you're doing.

Cross zone Spamming - Following a local zone ban, repeatedly switching names to avoid ?ignore, then spamming or harassing zone staff with cross-zone messages, after a warning to stop. Maximum 7 day net ban for first offence.

You're completely missing the point. This isn't a billing-wide issue; it's a zone issue (at worst). Any billing op who acts on your pissing and moaning will probably get bitch slapped and have the ban lifted immediately.

 

The way I see it, your excessive sniveling is just going to invite more people to abuse this and, likely, harass you. You've brought up a valid point in that ?give bypasses ignore but Jesus Christ man, leave it at that.

 

Again, this is not a billing issue. If your eFeelings are that sensitive, you should take your perma-clients and idle in another chatnet-enabled zone until the problem is fixed. Until then, shut the fuck up and stop threatening people with netbans, you tool.
