Cre, read the friggin topic. Chronic will be killed by Dr. Brain in an epic knife-fight on top of a massive radio antenna in Alaska. As soon as the combatants work out a time to meet, I can start arranging access to the antenna.

It "failed" due to a few select players going out of their way to ruin it or otherwise do janky shit (fun fact: One of them has posted in this thread).

It'll restart in a few weeks with another set of rules updates and a redraft.

just announce reset time 1 week or at least 3 days before so we can waste our money ultimately

my 1.5 million gone to nothing, I could have like to test some setups or just cobalt before reset like the rest of the zone

also you should open an arena where anyone can test out different ship setups for free, so people doesn't waste their money, especially it would make new players orientation to hs much easier

If you could test everything for free in an arena, no one would really be in pub, they would be in that arena like look at this alien tech.

I think at least a 2weeks notice would be nice. I figured as the new modules were put into place, a reset would soon follow since it was long overdue.

But it seems like destruction is necessary for construction to begin. Since the reset, more people are playing and staying online longer. Far less RQs as well.

I have been telling for years, a test out arena yet only 1 ship is allowed in it so there would be like 10 parallel 1 ship arenas to buy sell and test items

newcomers really waste their hard earned money for nothing unlike old users who knows what to buy exactly and tested their setup for years

3 days-2weeks whatever but at least we can test some wild setups or have some epic matches for a certain period it will attract attention

Actually no, people play hours straight by ruining flag games, multi-quick-wins to get rich early, then have a ship advantage over newcomers or players who didn't play first weeks

That is exactly why HS games ruined later on, same patterns happening for years, that is why later on people leave HS after a while the difference between beginner and old players become quite high

so only solution is there should be stronger beginner setups for cheaper, not higher starter money or it will be glitched by multi accounts, or there should be default stock ships with a decent setup as you create account, which you can upgrade to a better ship, I have been telling for years, currently it is partially accomplished, however after others buy signature or aliens still beginner ships become weak

the difference with money can buy should be 2x-3x mostly so new users join later can compansate the money they lack, if you can equalize things some more new people can actually play and more unpredictable flag games may likely to take place

No need to make all items free in that ship testing arena... just make it so items can be (virtually) sold at their buying price... i.e. give the player a budget of his current ship's BUY value + his current money

Something cool would also be something like ?testitems -somereactor,+somereactor,-somegun,+somegun,+someaddon

and if your budget allows it, it throws you in an enclosed area where you can try it out for 30 seconds or so, then resets you back where you were with your old items. Kind of like how you can try a car out before buying it. Having this in a different arena might make things easier

interesting some admin actually considering the idea users provide

you are totally right about buy=sell money might be an easier implementation

Also there may be some bots to autoshoot you bombs and guns for some period like 1-2 minutes to test the setup in real life situation

you're right though.. the ideas users provide are always valid and never motivated by greed, they should always be listened to because they definitely never are and never have been. all ideas are technically feasible and easy to pull off, don't forget, so there's no reason why people shouldn't drop everything they're doing to try every idea. after all they couldn't have possibly considered or tried any idea before.

FYI, I am in no way an admin in Hyperspace, not even a mod

I know but even an ssforum admin would do fine

some of the ideas users provide are valid, not motivated by greed, are feasible and easy to pull off, so coders don't need to drop everything they are doing to try them, therefore some easy and feasible ideas that some users provided should be listened, however most of the ideas are wasted

even by instead replying in such a long and sarcastic way a coder might have accomplished some of the ideas

also instead wasting time in arguing we could have create some poll threads about requested changes so everyone can vote equally

For example I have been telling flag and center teams should have been seperated for at least 2-3 years, why it only accomplished recently mostly because nobody cared, I didn't make a thread either but it would have been ignored anyway

since you are a developer of any and all things that put a zone together i am sure you are an accurate judge of the amount of time and effort a given applicable activity takes. clearly, you have been doing these sorts of things longer than me or anyone else, so you know what's best from experience. since users pay taxes to the big brain, naturally it is only fair for the big brain to give all users a vote for how the zone is ran. after all, democracies are inherently perfect; there are plenty of examples of this. clearly you should be listened to because you have all of the answers after an extensive contribution to the game, you even figured out solutions to problems that didn't even exist at the time, after all. furthermore, anything i said in my previous post contradicted what you said in your post, therefore all of my points were invalid or inapplicable to the topic at hand. next time i will not waste your time with a long 75 word response--which you of course will read and consider in its entirety, not just the parts your could spin to your advantage. That module took quite a bit of work, and still doesn't work right. It also depended on another module which didn't exist until a few months ago. So basically, you have no idea what is easy and what is hard, and shouldn't be lecturing us on how we spend our limited time.

Feel free to write the code for your ideas yourself. That's a great way to get them added.

Even if we hadn't done any coding at all, Dr Brain, Arnk and I still have a combined 20 or so years of experience with this zone so just on that basis alone it is somewhat unlikely to come up with an idea one of us hasn't at least considered in passing in perhaps some slightly different form.
