What happened to freedom of self will? Does playing Trenchwars revoke that right from you? TW is acting like China... controlling what is available to them, and what they can or can't hear/do.

Just have the player decide whether or not to tune in, and if they hear cuss words or the word nigga, then they can just tune out.

 

Trenchwars isn't FORCING the players to tune IN, but they are FORCING them to tune OUT. What kind of zone Communism is that?

 

 

There is no problem with the radio whatsoever, Trenchwars is the only roadblock at this point.

 

Face it, this game doesn't have that much longer to do something like this, we should do it while we still can.

Yeah if someone doesn't like what they hear, what stops them from turning it off. If I don't like the show on T.V., i change the channel. I think the same concept should be applied here. If people want to still be "OMG" about it, put a disclaimer "May contain explicit lyrics." or something.

Then make the radio station, and live with trench wars (the most populated zone which is just about the only zone to have a successful radio station) not support it. If it's not going to crash and burn, then your popularity will speak for it's self in getting trench wars to accept your ways. Also, good job on missing the point, kids.

They're not stopping you from making a radio station, or advertising it in public chat - they're just disagreeing to helping you advertise it if it contains material inappropriate for a large sector of the TW audience (a bunch of kids).

If you care about Trench Wars, then obviously you are caring for a wider audience [for marketing purposes]; if you care about Trench Wars enough to attain its audience base, then you are going to have to make a compromise to satisfy the demands to its fullest.

First off, I don't buy the fact that TW is comprised of mainly pre pubescents. Second off, 'leaving matches in a child's bedroom' is probably one of the worst analogies you could have come up with for a comparison like this. VOLUNTARY INTERNET RADIO does not set houses on fire, destroy thousands of dollars in property damages, kill people, and/or ruin families and lives. TW thinks that eliminating individual choices under the guise of 'protecting the youth' is A-OK. It is not. You might think that your policy is admirable. It is not. You seem to think that your zone is populated by a bunch of children. It is not.

 

It has been proven numerous times that without zone support, an idea like this WILL fail, so don't give me this bullshit 'oh you can still advertise it yourself in pub', because you know damn well that anyone would immediately think 'oh whats this trash, omg stfu spamming' and not tune in at all.

Ask Trench Wars. If they still don't approve, live with it or kneel. If I were you, I would make the necessary compromises. Just because you would have to make compromises to these known factors or characteristiscs doesn't make you can't have a successful and community-wide popular radio station. I would have expected you to realize this, but if you are that much attached to your music ethics and pride, then ultimately that goes to show where your true priorities are comings are from.

Does Trench Wars censor public chat? No. So really anything could happen. Trench Wars has been declining a lot recently anyway from what I've seen.

SubSpace Radio can live without the advertisements from Trench Wars. Just balance out the number of chiefs and indians.
