May want to consider taking advantage of CDN like Amazon or SimpleCDN, especially or at least for very large files.

 

All files need to be checked, verified, screenshots, and identified. Corrupted files need to be deleted, made note of, or repaired. All files should be totally rearchived in at least ZIP format (for most universal compatibility); may consider also providing a 7z version for the bandwidth and filesize cautious people.

 

A similar permissions system to IPB/vBulletin/phpBB/SMF; categories would be like forums if you see what I mean.
