Chronic_Killer Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 I think the powerball goals should be in the center and the reward for making them should be increased. Another problem I have with the game is when I minimize the game (and the game turns into a chat window and the game tab) and try and go back into the game I get You have been specced for a large spike: 1510 ms breaks the limit of 1500. So I think the spike limit should be increased to 2000ms. I know it's a lot but it just sucks when I want to change music or something and I get kicked off the winning team. I dont know if this happends to anyone els. I have a pretty good computer with 5GB of ram so I dont know why my computer does this. Quote
Dr Brain Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 That's a problem with your computer, not with the zone. Ram probably isn't the culprit, but video card or CPU. It could also be that you have a lot of other programs running. If you want to change music, and have media keys on your keyboard, you can use AutoHotKey to forward the controls to iTunes or Winamp, or whatever you use. Quote
oid Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 it is a problem with the zone brain. it happens to everybody in hs. I have a 3ghz quad core and a 4890 and i still get it 50% of the time Quote
»Xog Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) it is a problem with the zone brain. it happens to everybody in hs. I have a 3ghz quad core and a 4890 and i still get it 50% of the time This is true. I think it might deal with large lvz's or some other feature that needs to be loaded - it's definitely graphical, there's no other part that I can think of that would actually require a loading time just from alt+tabbing. This has happened to me before, but it doesn't happen all the time. edit: I just realized alt+s is the same as clicking the post button. Why did I press Alt+S to send a message? Where did I get this strange habit from? I've noticed it a lot Edited February 4, 2010 by Xog Quote
JoWie Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) I always get that when alt tabbing from fullscreen. But not when continuum is windowed. Also, look at global hotkeys in winamp preferences Edited February 4, 2010 by JoWie Quote
Dr Brain Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Even if the zone has too many graphics for *any* computer to handle, the spike limit can't be changed without adversely affecting gameplay. So look into the other options discussed by myself and Jowie. Quote
Chronic_Killer Posted February 4, 2010 Author Report Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) I tryed closing all background programs and even with no music or anything this still happends to me. It's very annoying. Xog said the most logical thing that I can think of. My computer specs are AMD athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ 2.60 GHz, 3454 MB of ram and im on a 32-bit OS. My Windows Experience Index is only a 2.5. Which me gaming graphics being the lowest score. All other scores are above 4.5. Here are my graphic specs, and I'm not sure (because I bought this computer a few years ago), but I'm pretty sure this a stock graphics card actually in the motherboard.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Display adapter type NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 Total available graphics memory 1599 MB Dedicated graphics memory 128 MB Dedicated system memory 0 MB Shared system memory 1471 MB Display adapter driver version 7.15.11.7530 Primary monitor resolution 1280x800 DirectX version DirectX 9.0 or better I have a old computer down stairs that can hardly run continuum with anti-virri software on it and this problem doesn't happen with that computer. So I'm somewhat lost. Could trying to update the driver help me? Edited February 4, 2010 by Chronic_Killer Quote
Samapico Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 HS has much less graphical "burden" than say, Desert Storm, or whatever. Also, listing your specs won't do much good... Continuum will eat all the CPU it can, most of the time. You might want to experiment with various graphic settings (view -> advanced options...). The checkboxes at the bottom can have an influence on the performance/ugly lag. As far as I know, there isn't any magical recipe, so just try various combinations Quote
