Can someone tell me what I can do to make my wb better or what I can do to change how my wb flys or takes hits, please post what it will change thanks alot. thumbsup.gif

first of all sharppinger isnt that good, id switch it for mass driver, which is overpowered right now. Naq is pretty bad, id get comp core or esper. Also power strip > parallel relay any day. Idk why you have an extra mount (I assume this is focused on centering) I'd get an extra addon instead and get power strip AND parallel. Combat sensors isnt that useful but its not that big of a deal to change. Id also change ablative for aphasic, but thats just me.

What do you mean emit? And I do center all day FTW. As for oid's statement, I highly disagree with the compression core or ESPER system. I was thinking of taking off extra mount and just having one decoy system and 1, defense mount and adding extra addon for power strip so i would have power strip and parrell relay and I was also thinking of going Jedlik Dynamo instead of the naquadah gen. Naq or Jedlik is the way to go for wb. Both are strong reactors which don't slow you down. The idea with a small ship is to *avoid* damage rather than *absorb* it. So, take the crack-head spider pilot's advice with a grain of salt. I'm using Jedlik right now but my wb had naquadah and to be honest their performance is about the same.

 

Aphasic armor is the most retarded armor you can try to center with. It increases the damage you take from L1 bullets, like the kind fired by mass driver and shredder, two of the most popular and lethal weapons your enemies are going to have in the center. The only ship I recommend Aphasic for is a lanc because it does the best vs. bursts of any non-signature armor.

 

If you want to go with one-sided armor, go with Exoskeleton. The only high-level bullet you'll find in large quantities in the center is point defense. Of course, Murphy's Law states that 5 minutes after you buy Exo you will be chased by 3 noobs with Plasma cannons, so stick with ablative for bullet armor.

 

I personally hate the sudden death cause by a stray bomb, so I go with shock matrix most of the time. With combat sensors that probably won't happen to you though.

 

You definitely should change out your extra mount for extra addon ASAP.

 

Trade one of your emittors for inertial damper. No ship should be without it.

 

Also, don't underestimate the power of a spam gun in the center if you have good recharge. With wb you will have the speed to chase people down. but not the energy reserves to waste a lot of power. Also, you never know when you'll take your wb into a base. I'd recommend trap laser or positron gun. Both of them offer decent power but also have the benefit of being highly efficient, which will mean your ship will generally be at a higher energy level when you start taking hits.

 

 

 

(Ofcourse if you really want my advice, I'd say that you shouldn't bother with a sig gun on a warbird chassis that can't support it, and have system optimizer as your third mount)

Doesn't matter what we think. It should be what your comfortable with, if not you will fail harder then you are now. I need ab or I wouldn't be able to get a kill at all, nor dodge. :/ Just try random setups, money is easy to make, so don't worry about using a lot.

Disagree with comment about switching Combat Sensors for Inertial Damper - nothing else compares to it on a Carnot Warbird. Inertial Damper increases maxspeed (which won't help), maxthrust (which also won't help), and rotation (which you frankly don't need with Carnot and Maneuvering Fins).

 

 

I agree with oid on switching to Mass Driver (mostly because you can't do much aiming with carnot and you'll need wide spread to hit people).

 

 

Also, I'm not really a fan of HE Missile on a Warbird without a sigged Sub, so I'd go with Harpy Missile or String of Pearls for added lame-factor.

Not to be rude, but for *you* they don't compare because you fly a spider. Your ship eats damage rather than avoids it. Jedlik and Naquadah suck on a spider, but that doesn't mean they don't work on a wb.

Your logic, however, does not apply to compression core. Following your logic, which is to dodge rather than absorb, Naquadah and Jedlik are both the "Absorb" type compared to Compression. Compression 4 most underestimated reactor in the game (Although my warbird has Jedlik blum.gif).

 

Mind you, fusion is epic too.

I'll have to agree with basically everyone's comments... EXCEPT Aileron.

Wth is that kid smoking? Surely he's on crack. Worst advice I've seen given in a while.

ROFL. MY ASS. None of my ships have inertial. They function fully fine. Idk why you think it's a must have.

And as for naq/jed, I suggest you to .?sell ship right now. Probably one of the worst reactors in the game.

 

I will repeat this, anyone using dual/edison/tesla/naq/jed/quad should just sell that ship now.

 

Now as to back on topic... Like my predecessors have said, get extra addon and powerstrip, switch to either compression/esper.

Sharppinger is good, but only on people who know how to use it. And that usually goes in a package with those who AB alot. So, MD looks like a better choice.

I like your carnot. Second best, if not best non-sig sub in the game. Combat Sensors are gud. Keep it. Unless ofc, you hate noobs like cheese who's only skills are cloaking and vulching... switch to x. :)
