BDwinsAlt Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Ceiu and Dr Brain made me feel better after wasting 20 minutes of my life reading someone else's post. The reason people were flaming are because you come off as if you are so cool and better than everybody else because you got around the continuum encryption. The way you pointed out how you could have used it to make cheats and stuff but that you had good intentions makes it look like you thought about it, or you're just so proud of yourself and see yourself as kind of god-like. Like that said above, people have broken the encryption several times now. Snrrrub is the only one I know who has actually put it to good use. Get over yourself and stop writing a freakin essay on every little detail. Either do something productive with what you did, or accept you wasted your time on a dying game. I don't care, but please stop posting all this non scene. Quote
»jabjabjab Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Ive seen enough of this topic. Everyone is at fault because your emotions get in the way of things getting done. Consider yourselves screwed in the next decade. Honestly, I dont feel one bit sorry for you people either. Quote

»Lynx Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Disclaimer: I've written this post after a LONG night out, at an all-you-can-drink night club. To summarise; while your intentions of helping the community are welcomed, I think it'd be best to leave methods like this alone. As I said, the current client actually is pretty good at keeping jerks at bay, and another client may not be so good at doing so. If of course we're wrong (which I don't really think we are) and you know exactly what it takes to reverse engineer something like Continuum, then feel free to make changes - but I'd strongly suggest that you release any finalised work to people who do know what they're taking on. I've tried a few times to reverse engineer Continuum, and to be honest - I found it a wall of headache (I mean to actually get things working again). While I admit I am not nearly as competent a computer scientist as others in the community - I'd say I have a fairly good idea of what I am doing, and a fairly good understanding of what's required. I know that I definitely wouldn't trust myself with the release of another edited client, though - and, to be honest I wouldn't really trust you with it either. Anyway, I am anticipating that you'll have a rage-reply coming but in an effort to get things back on track you said that you saw some 'caves' of code that could provide further functionality? It'd be real good if you could explain these, as that is quite intriguing information. Furthermore, I am curious as to whether you've actually managed to make changes to the client, and re-package it with the same strength encryption (I recall a lot of features using... very excessive encryption (RSA4096)), and whether the client could play stable in SSC zones. Emit Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Okay, i've had enough of your crap now. Listen to me, you DUMB fuck. I didn't even want to post this here originally, the ONLY reason I did is because Rootbear bugged me into doing it. There's your problem right there. o hai cerium i herd wild lost last nite ib4lokk Quote
X_PennyWise Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 http://jamie-online.com/random-jamz/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/facepalm.jpg The first and probably last time I'll ever agree with Ori's post. I felt the exact same way as the good captain at this point in the thread. Quote
