Guest Candlelight Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Oh it started working again today, for some reason. Do you still want the trace?
Yupa Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 (edited) 17th should be on ASSS.Seriously, and now is the perfect time — no one will complain. Edited June 15, 2010 by Yupa
MikeTheNose Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 Server was reset and players are able to get back in. Just need to identify the exact setting that does this. - MikeTheNose- Subspace Central Network BanG Administrator-------------------------------------"I have never wavered in my commitments to this zone and I am certainly not doing so now." You just did.
★ Lynx Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Yeah, I was about to say... Perhaps it's about time you switch host to something that you know... works.
★ Maverick Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 (edited) I highly doubt the host is the source of the problem here, Lynx. Priit K. hosts 17th Parallel on the same server as SSCU Trench Wars. There is no better, more reliable, selfless* and cheap (free) subgame hosting then his. * Priit K. doesn't expect anything in return for all the years he has been hosting all of the zones. L.C. Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Heh, his hosting would technically be the most reliable right now. So long as SSC is online, so will everything else he hosts. ;o BlueT Network AdministratorSSCV Network AdministratorJackpot SVS System Operatorhttp://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/randomsubsbar.jpghttp://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/BlueToastWebhosting.gif
Hakaku Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Uptime != Reliability Plus, not everything he hosts is always up, just take a look at the directory server for one. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v138/zacinu/SubSpacebannt2.pngPSPACE (SourceForge) - Alternative client (source) to Continuum
🜲 Samapico Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Still, the only reason we'd change host for is to switch to ASSS. The problem we have isn't an uptime or reliability problem, it's most likely a subgame bug. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/88/Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg/120px-Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg.pngDCME co-developerSSCU 17th Parallel sysop
L.C. Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Plus, not everything he hosts is always up, just take a look at the directory server for one.Isn't that mostly because of his directory server not being up-to-date with the latest bug fixes? I am not saying that I don't see the problem though. You could always just avoid touching the defaults for certain things in server.ini and the settings, but there could still be a potential (regardless of how small) for screwup. While Priit may be potentially better for uptime (depends on a per scenario and over-time basis), it doesn't sound like you guys have any access other than the built-in Subgame2 commands. ★ Purge Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Have you tried troubleshooting the problem on a different server?
🜲 Samapico Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 How the hell do you troubleshoot a problem that you have no idea why it happens, and that can happen about once a year to random people? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/88/Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg/120px-Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg.pngDCME co-developerSSCU 17th Parallel sysop
🜲 Samapico Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Also, the fix is pretty easy... I'll just need a small plugin to be able to remotely crash the zone http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/88/Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg/120px-Half-Life_Black_Mesa_logo.svg.pngDCME co-developerSSCU 17th Parallel sysop
